ALERT: To all Newbies...A Deca only cycle is a horrible choice for a first cycle

Lately all I've been seeing is new guys asking if a DECA "only" cycle is a smart choice for their first one.

My answer is NO! Your first cycle should consist of TESTOSTERONE!
I personally would never do a cycle (especially using Deca) without some form of TEST. Ever heard of Deca dick? It's no fun unless your a virgin who cares nothing about your sex life. Now, does everyone get "Deca dick"? NO. But again, test should be the Base for any cycle you choose.

newbies lean towards deca because they are still freaked about sides. I do agree tho that deca alone simply wont be worth the money spent or the limp johnson. A good first stack would be both the test and the deca.

Thanks BLT, I have been thinking of starting this very same thread. Lately, it has been a hot topic. The fact that the main page at AR has sample cycles and deca/dbol is one of them, insures that these cycle questions will continue.

It takes 38 posts and 6 PM's to change their mind after seeing it on the main page. Granted, that looks pretty professional, and we are just random guys...who do you believe?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I can't tell you how many posts lately I've answered and tried to convince new guys differently. Deca is a very hot topic now. It's always the same thing "my friend did it and saw great results". Yeah, but most of the time, the "friend" doesn't know what he's doing and when you ask them about post cycle thearpy, they answer "what the hell is that"?

i would never recommend a deca cycle to anyone just because i think deca is ****. especially never recommend it as a first cycle or without test as a base.

i ran a deca 200 8 week about 1.5 years ago never had a problem, gained 14 pounds. now im currently on a laralbolin 50mg and a Deca 300mg 8 week and im on the 3rd week still no problems, pluse i go to Mex to get gear so i pay under a 100 bucks for just about every thing ...besides if you do have a problem pop some trib

Not only that, but since you didn't use test...how do you know what you are talking about? How can you compare the results?

As for keeping the deca under 400...that won't work for everybody. I was using 300mg along with about 350 test and the deca was winning the battle. I upped it to 420 or so, and the test is now winning. The point is, just because it works for some, doesn't mean it is the best way to go, or that it will even work for others.

I did some deca by itself before I knew what I was doing. I jumped in too quick and ended up wasting my money. did ~ 400 a week and gained like 9 lb. most of which was fat. and my strength didn't increase at all. I don't even count it as a cycle. gonna do my first REAL cycle soon.

Ok, say your major reasons for using deca is for the increased collagen levels it will give to aid in healing joint injuries (OK yes a little muscle growth would be good). Your not worried about 'wood' as your joints are so sore and are trying deca as a last ditch effort. You have tried HGH for the same reason. You dont want to include test with it as then you cant take your proscar to prevent hairloss as this will be made worse by deca.

So what do you do?

Great post brother!!! Now, you can't compare a cycle of test at 500mg vs. only 200mg of Deca. Most guys would tell you 200mg of Deca is to low. up that dose of Deca and we will see if you don't get Deca dick.

I've never seen anyone recommend a Deca cycle at 200mg??? NEVER! And trust me, I've been to several boards and done thousands of hours of research.

Bro, I agree. Everyone is entitled to there own opinions. Thats what makes this board fantastic. But, The majority of VETS, MODS, and guys on this board/other boards, who have been in the game for years, will NEVER give advice about doing a Deca only cycle, especially for a first time user. Personally, I'm going to listen strong and hard to the majority of the boards and to guys who have been there. For the few guys that had success, I guarantee there are thousands who wished they would of not only listened, but wished they used test.

Well it is a good cycle if you do not mind your dick going on vacation for a while. Like BLT says bad idea test should always be the base of almost any cycle.

I donno my first cycle had 250 mg deca and 475 mg testosterone and I think I would not have been happy without deca. The deca gave me some nice gains and my bursitus knee never felt better in 5 years, now the deca is out of me my bursitus is acting up again.

At the levels I was doing there was no deca dick, recovery in PCT has been outstanding. My deca cycle ran 10 weeks, my testosterone ran past the deca to 16 weeks with tapering off to 100 mg testosterone a week at last 2 weeks, went on PCT with only clomid, tribulus and tongkat ali. The tribulus and tongkat started on week #13 to stave off testicular shrinkage which was becoming apparent. IN just 2 weeks after last injection the nutz grew back at incredible rate, crash only lasted 3 days before a strong return of libido hit. On day 19 after last testosterone enanthate injection, I had a blood test at the doctor. My blood testosterone came in at 972 with real high free testosterone and effectively disqualified me out of continuing HRT. Only reason I could have come in with such a high testosterone level is the tongkat ali (very effective chinese herb) was kicking in and really causing me a big boost in natural testosterone production. I am really liking this tongkat ali and tribulus combo. The libido has actually started to surpass the maximum libido from testosterone enanthate but nice is the balls hanging nice and low, bigger then they ever been and still growing and almost dare say the penis is also getting hypertrophy (a well documented but temporary condition that happens to penis and balls when taking tongkat ali). Also the cum production is incredibly heavy... so I would almost consider taking tongkat as a replacement for HCG in any future cycles and even considering doing the tongkat ali "year round".

Before my cycle in October I had blood testosterone at 223 and this is what qualified the HRT.

alright well, I can speak from both sides. On paper, i'll tell you it looks good. Doing deca only. you hear about it from the guys in the gym, your friends, but how much do those guys actually know about anabolics, androgens, hpta testicular axis, protein sysnthesis, atp energy conversion, nitrogen...yada yada yada? Well, I can tell you, if they are recommending deca only, then they don't even know what protein synthesis is much less branch chain amino acids and poly peptides chains and everything about how juice works in creating muslce(not an expert though). Basically, I have done a lot of research and deca looks okay. It shuts down your test production just as test does. However, try coming off a deca only cycle. I have, and it sucked big time. I watched as my hard earned gains went to fat. Sure, some guys do well and there are guys that will do that. Their body just has the natural ability to come back. However, for a majority and myself, their gains will go to ****. A deca only cycle was just one of many mistakes I made as I "grew up". Bottom line, the deal with deca only, some guys can make it through(due to the hpta testicular axis quickly regenerating and producting test) and the majority won't. It shuts you down hard, but hey, what would I know?

and this is no line of comparison either, if you were benching 190 when you start juicing, i think you could've held off on a while and how much of your 30 pounds was watter retention?

I could have went from benching 115 to 225 if i ran deca and never worked out...see what i mean, not really a basis for comparison
