does the reverse grip (thumbs behind bar) work triceps more hurt chest or what?
it uses more tris. I have read a article about a guy who messed up his shoudlers and now uses that grip for all his bench chest work. Hes a powerlifter and eventually he got his numbers up to where they were before his injury
I think the main problem would be the increased chance of injuring yourself, anyone?
not sure, but I just prefer regular benches. I am continuously increasing my weight(like 5-10 pounds every 2.5 weeks) and it's really doing good for my triceps. I have an article from a magazine about reverse grip benches and it says it works out tricep brachii, anterior delt, and upper chest.
Ok I do these alot NUMBER 1 BE CAREFUL Always have a spotter bring the weight out to you.. You really dont have alot of strength with your arms facing that way and w/a reverse grip the weight may slip off your hands.. Reverse benchs works the HELL out our your anterior delt along with your Tris and chest Not really the upper chest b/c to target that you HAVE to be at an incline.. Well thats pretty much it.
