Wrists hurt doing straight bar preacher curls

Does anyone elses wrists hurt while doing straight bar preacher curls? Last time I did these I couldn't lift for a week because it felt like I had a sort of forearm splint and it was painful. Everytime I do these it hurts.

That's why for my bis I do:

    1. Incline dumbell curls
    2. Incline hammer curls
    3. Reverse ez bar preacher curls

Anyone elses wrists hurt while doing straight bar preacher curls?

I think we're both bitches.. just deal with it

Straight bar = WAY better than EZ curl bar..

I use an EZ curl bar and my biceps are probably one of my best muscle groups. While doing preacher, I switch from out-grip to in-grip to out-grip and back to in-grip. It takes the pressure off of your wrist and seems to be working fine for me. So what's wrong with it?

your on the verge of tearing the tendon in your wrist, i had it, hurt like a bitch to workout , kept pushing heavy weight, it started after doing straight bar curls. Soon enough, i tore the tendon, had to wear a wrist guard for 2 months out the gym,
everytime i workout i still wear the wrist guard, its a habit now, cna't workout without it.

don't push it with heavy weight, youll be sorry.

The way I look at it is like this:

    What's better?

To do straight bar preacher curls (and not even be able to complete all the sets due to the pain) and have my wrists hurt where I can't lift a weight for 2 weeks...

    or

Do the exercises I mentioned PAIN FREE while still being able to develop my bis and still be able to be healthy to stay in the gym thus providing more growth.

That's an easy choice for me.

LOL I hear ya bro... believe me... it hurts like fukk..

Use some wraps on your wrist, and see if it helps.. your wrists will get stronger in time,.... hope they do.. cuz The EZ Curl bar sucks lol

I used to have that problem too. BUT, once I realized I had to drop the weight, my arms grew and my wrists and forearms didnt hurt anymore. I know ego is hard to put in check, but go lighter and you'll be better off.
