45 minutes is the gold standard for workout duration.

The gold standard huh...lol. Who set that golden standard? Never heard of such. It all depends on what body part or parts you are working that day. sometimes mine runs 45min, sometimes 1 hour, sometimes an hour and a half. You can't put a time standard on a workout.

If you had done your research, you would know that test levels drop after 45 minutes (Louie Simmons and other strength coaches are strong advocates of 45 minute workouts) . We're not talking about meathead bodybuilding here . If you're are looking for efficiency, go with science over subjective information .

No... you lose! Louie Whowe can kiss my crack! I know what works for me. He sure as hell doesn't. I break his little golden rule every time I workout, and I'm still growing.

anything over an hour IMO is overkill.. Your cortistol levels rise after an hour etc. Aiming for under an hour makes you keep your intensity up as well!

So if you are working back and bi's, you should be through within an hour? Not hardly bro!

If you need more than 45 minutes per day, wouldn't it be more efficient to have a second workout later in the day?

Tis different for each body part for me. For arm day Im not going to be doing anymore than 6-7 sets in total of Bicep and triceps, so maybe 40 mins for that.

But on Legs, there a bastard, so maybe hour and a half!

I've found that if you rest as much as the experts tell you to rest and do as many sets as experts tell you to perform I just can't finish, even on short days, in 45 minutes. So I'm not going to compromise body parts or sets or the resting period in between in order to finish sooner(like I was in the beginning) and as soon as I did that I started getting stronger so I'm going to do what works for me as well.

Hmmm...I'm usually out of the gym in about 30 minutes. I usually do 3-4 sets, 6-8 reps with a minute in between sets; 2-3 body parts (back/biceps, chest/shoulders/triceps, legs/abs), and 3-4 exercises per body part. Is that enough?

Chest day can be 1.5 hrs for me since I go heavy and rest a few minutes between sets. Anything else I'm usually done in an hour.

It always depends on the workout. If I'm doing cardio and more than 1 body part it may last up to an hour and a half. If I'm banging out 1 body I may get out of then in 40-45 min.
