What do you guys find the most efficient thing to eat prior to a workout? I've kinda been trying different things to see what gives me my best lift, but I was just currious what you guys like to eat before a workout.

chicken breasts and oatmeal, all the way!!!!1
who sits down with a chicken breast and a bowl of oatmeal and eats them at once? That is sickening to me. It just doesnt go together. I do eat chicken breats and oats, but one at a time. As far as a meal, I would much rather have chicken and rice.
Ive done it.....even put the chx in my oats.....it sucked.Originally Posted by swizole

For me, it's 1/2 cup oats, 1 scoop of whey, some fiber one cereal, and some stallone pudding....about 1.5 hours preworkout.
depends on the time of day, in the morning I like to have baked potatos and whey, or cold cereal and whey, If I train in the evening I like to eat steak and pasta and then train, thats the best, I just cant stomach that shit in the morning.
Whole Wheat Bagel, Cottage Cheese and Whey
you and your damn bagels![]()
hahaha, go for it man, i would much rather have ground beef and a potato or rice. Maybe it is just the fact that everything besides the sugary kind of instant oats taste like complete shit to me.
Taste like crap but thats the sacrafice most of us make!!Originally Posted by swizole
i have a nice bowl of oats with a scoop and a half of butter toffee whey - sooo good, gives me nice energy that lasts for a while during workout. pwo is the typical 30gpro/60gcarb shake and ppwo is the same as pre-workout - oats and whey, mmm, usually some chicken too![]()
I'm no expert by any means, but I want to learn more about training and gain some mass. My preworkout meal has always been 1/2 cup oats, 1 scoop whey and a jar of stallone pudding. 6'2, 185. Adequate? Isnt preworkout and postworkout importantce a myth?
29 years old and just getting really into this training with weights. Been into fitness all my life, but more from a cardio aspect than mass. I do train with weights but never a set plan. I think my diet is 99% clean, so I just need to know where to go from here. ALways have been between 175-185, no real changes.
First I ride my bike for 20 minutes then
6:15
3/4 cup dry steel cut oats
1 cup egg whites
1 scoop whey
some blueberries, strawberries, rasberries (prob. 30 total)
900
Snack at work
usually a protein source like muscle milk with some trailmix, or granola or some 2% cottage cheese, and nuts, trailmix, granola
noon
chicken or lean beef
big sweet potatoe
huge salad with mixed veggis
200
1/2 cup oats, scoop of whey, stallone pudding, fiber one cereal for crunch.
(thats preworkout)
4-6 train
630 shake - whey/celltech, rice cakes
830-930
muscle milk shake, almonds, cottage cheese, protein bar.
930 BED - this meal to close to bed?
