how to you test for BF%

How do you guys test for BF%.......calipers?, or those weight scales that tell you(ive heard these are not accurate, i could be wrong), or something else

if you use calipers, how do they work

calipers...you either test at 3 points or 6 points (I think)

When u get them it should come with a lil instruction guide thing. Most accurate is underwater testing..but calipers will come within a half point or so

Use this internationally known scale method.

First you look in the mirror. Then catorgorize urself as so....

    Abeast/cushiony/fat&skinny/ethiopian

    there you go.

If you have calipers there are two easy equations to use to figure out bf%. All measurements should be taken in mm.

    1. Sloan
    Body Density = 1.1043 - 0.001327 (front thigh) - 0.001310 (subscapular)

    Jackson-Pollock
    Body Density = 1.1093800 - 0.0008267 (front thigh + ab domen + chest) + 0.0000016 (front thigh + ab domen + chest)^2 - 0.0002574 (age in years)

Once you have either of the body densities you figure out bf% by using:

    BF% = (4.57/body density) -4.142 <----Now multiply this answer by 100.
