    DURING WO Shake

I searched and have mixed results........I know IBF* does bcaas and virt....and I am having trouble getting a meal in 1-2 hours post training, so just curious if anyone takes in a shake or sips on one during their routine....results? Crash? What is your recipe?

Wouldn't drinking anything say virtago, whey and bcaas during blunt any fat burning efforts?

I used to drink a concauction during my workouts that consisted of creatine, glutamine, and taurine. I can honestly say that this approach did not affect my results. I'd rather place my focus on what I'm doing rather than focusing on what I'm not doing when I'm in the gym.

Question: Aren't you potentially introducing change to your regimen by asking these questions? The reason why I ask this is because you're still not certain if what you're currently doing is working for you. (Hence the reason for your questions.) Give what you're currently doing some time, and if it's working, then stick to it. All of the supplements that money can buy cannot alter your desire to work harder.

MY DIET has been spot on for at least 3 weeks now..now changes...Im gaining 1-2lbs a week.....abs are wstarting to fade, but I'm dealing with it cause I'm getting stronger....my pw and evening food consumption (cause I'm home and not as regimine) lacks a litttle....maybe not lax, but I am finding it difficult to cram in all the meals...so, if I sipped on my pw shake, it would be easier, just didnt want it to have negative effects....here' my pm protocol:

    3pm
    blend casein, some almonds, peanuts

    430 TRAIN

600pm cereal, 50g whey shake, post supps

700pm small meal of protein and fiberous veggies

845 - prebed meal cottage cheese and peanut butter

    midnight
more cottage cheese, fiberous veggies (only if I'm hungry) this is after 2 hrs sleep......

now, if Ihave the during shake, I could do my meal/shake at 7pm, then follow the rest of my routine without a problem.....if I dont, it's my pw shake/meal then only 30 minutes later my 7pm meal, etc.....with me?

If your goal is to get bigger and stronger, then it sounds like you're on your way in meeting your goal. More is not always better, so stop playing with the numbers and stick to what's currently working for you.

Im not playing with numbers....all numbers are kept the same....I'm swapping the cereal for virtago......just wondering how benefitial it would be to start it earlier.....obviously i cant stop raining and eat cereal with whey in the middle...but the shake may produce results.....postivie or negative.

I no longer do a shake during my workout FYI, it was just an experiment.

Block fat burning? umm no because that require you to be glycogen depleted which wouldn't happen considering you're having carbs preworkout. I don't lift weights to burn fat, I lift to destroy muscle tissue in order to grow.

Take this for what its worth.
Last year my blood work showed my liver values were high. They tested me again a month later and they had doubled. Another month passed and they doubled again.
At that point the Dr was scared. He thought I had liver disease or a severe medical condition.
We ran every test under the sun. Everything came back negative.
He decided it must be something I was eating.
That is when it dawned on me. I had started Pure Vitargo two weeks before the first test.
I stopped taking it and we ran the test a month later. Everything was back to normal. At one point my liver values were over four times the highest acceptable value.
I will never touch the stuff again.

this is from another board....pretty scary, eh?

THanks IB....I'll pass and just take my shake pw.....anywho, my last carb meal is 11am and I train at 430....2 meals in between are p/f.....first three are pro/carbs.....but my glycogen levels are still prob. still full so I see what you are saying...

Not sure I see the point in going Prot/Fat for the two meals pre-training, it would affect my workout in a negative way (intensity-wise). Let us know how that works out for ya.

About the Vitargo post, I only trust about .1% of what I read on message boards.

hwy, you xsigned it...lol..kidding...my preworkout was an apple but ive heard so many shitty things about fructose and it's killing cuts properties, i figure there are better alternatives, and with fats, no insulin crash......lethargic Maybe if it's truly intense and too long.......i sometimes nix carbs post workout as well and opt for a egg whites, cc, whey shake....I figure if my calories and macros are on point for my first 5 meals, pw may be a tad overrated....

    IMO:

    1. I'd say if you're bulking, keep in the PWO shake.

    2. Also, if you are bulking, fruit isn't a problem

ive been reading more and more about how important preWO nutrition is just as important as PWO. i always like to workout with medium blood sugar levels and plenty of amino's in my bloodstream. you can do this by eating a pro/carb meal an hour or so before your workout or by sipping on a fast acting pro/carb shake before and during your workout. this will give your muscles a headstart in recovering and also IMO you should never skip the pro/carb PWO shake even if you're dieting.

When I cut down from 230 lbs and about 23% bf to 185 lbs and about 12% I had a PWO shake every workout which contained 50 grams prot/half a cup of dextrose. Every moring, about half a cup of berries in my oats.

"i've heard so many shitty things about fructose" I've heard so many shitty things about a lot of things on this board. I, unlike many others it seems, try things out for myself. As long as these fit into my daily macros I did not have any problem.

Also agreed with zodiac. After Johan posted a thread regarding pre workout carbs, I switched and have not gone back, as I noticed a big difference.

Also, I have switched to a bagel PWO with my shake. Again, I tried somehting new and noticed positive results....

For my pre workout I usually hit up a bowl of raw oats, scoops of whey protein, and a splash of egg whites...mix it all up and chow it down about an hour to an hour and fifteen before I workout. I find it's not too much and gives me some energy for the workout.

If you are liking the apples, try it out. I don't like apples and usually have my fruit in the AM so I wouldn't do it pre workout. Never tried fruit preworkout...Part of this is that I don't love fruit or anything. I have always included fruits in my diet for ages...just would seem weird without them somewhere...Tried without them when I first cut and ended up tossing them in a few weeks into it just out of habit it seemed.

Maybe swap a PRO/FAT and PRO/CARB meal around to try it out if it is possible
