Hey bro if I were you I would really consider a Jack Russel terrier, they are cute and the smartest dogs in the world, plus they have great personalities. Alot of small dogs have really fiesty personalities and the little fvckers snap. Definately check them out. And make sure you get the dog from a reputable breeder because pet store dogs are not bred correct and you could end up having a sick dog. Very Important!!

A big dog in a small package? Try a Cairn Terrier. It's what Toto was, in "The Wizard of Oz."

I still think that Rottweilers are the best dog in the world. If I get another dog in the future it would be a rott. But if you are set on a small dog, how about a mini pincher.

I would never ever get a weiner dog. My roomate had one that was 15 years old, and he brought it from his parents house to live here. That situation lasted one week and I was ready to euthanize the dog myself. They get extremely territorial and if they don't like you they will find your stuff and shit on it. Plus, once they hit 12 years old a great deal of them get tumors growing everywhere, as did my roomates dog. There was two growing off his face and not one person that came over thought it was a cute dog, let alone even wanting to touch the thing.

The dog may be fine as a puppy/young dog, but they are absolutely disgusting/hostile/d1ckheads in older age.

Small dogs are the best companions you will ever have. Get a female because they are much more protective, territorial, and smart. The best thing about dogs is that when you come home after having a lousy day, they are always happy to see you and you know where they have been, what they have been doing, and who they have been with. How many of your girlfriends can you say that about?

Suppose depends on your personality and what you'd look for in a dog. If you like strong willed dogs I'd say get a Basinji.

Each to their own Bro ... I personally will never trust a pit bull -- never. I had two incidents where pit bulls came after me unprovoked and another where my youngest son was about 5 at the time and was with me in the front yard while I was washing my truck and this idiot hippy had two pits that got loose and saw my kid and started stalking him. One crouched low like a ****ing cat and came straight at him and the other circled to come at him from behind. Lucky I was out there. They hadn't seen me and I blasted them with the water hose and they ran off. I told the hippy that if they ever came into my yard, or saw them loose again I'd kill them and that I'd kill him if they ever got ahold of one of my kids.

personally the problem i'd have with a jack russell is the same i'd have with a boxer- they're high energy as hell and kind of bullheaded.

boston terriers are pretty cool small dogs and not too crazy. they look like baby boxers

i like italian greyhounds alot too. they're cool ass dogs about the size of a cat. whippets are similar, but a little bigger. they're both great housedogs

    italian greyhound

    whippets

cocker spaniels are really cute, cuddly little dogs too. you have to be really careful that you go through a good breeder for them though.

if you have to have something small check out miniature schnauzers. it's the only breed of dog i've had since i was 5 years old. they are very loyal and full of personality and they are around 20 pounds and very cute. they are very smart too.

You must be one huge dude to think boxers and rots are 'medium' sized mutts. By any standards these are big dogs. Boxers are high maintenance and wouldn't do well in a condo and rot's are just too damned big and like to bark (loud). Maybe you should try looking at houses, or townhouse with yards.

My female rott was medium sized. She was the runt of the litter. She weighed about 60 lbs when we got her, she had been beaten and starved and was found running stray. Then we loved her and fattened her up to about 85lbs, which was good for her size. Don't let her size fool you, she was incredibly strong.

We have a min pin who ROCKS!! and we just got a yorky/shitzu mix who right now as a puppy is a TERROR. We're hoping her dispostion changes soon because she bites the min pin and provokes her (the min pin would kill her) but i def recommend a min pin, the mut is cute but right now is satans puppy.

I live in an apartment with a large balcony and have a Parsons Jack Russell. Sensational dog - smart as, but does need to be walked regularly. Was a terror as a pup - chewed everything in sight, but he is 4yrs old now a terrific dog. Great companion.

For me a "condo or appartment" dog whould have to be a small "whooly" dog (no shedding).

My kid has a mutt at his moms, it's a mix between a bichon maltais and a yorkshire terrier... great little playful dog.
