    2 hours cardio

so say i was doing two hours of low intensity cardio in one session (120 bpm)

as long as i took a whey shake mixed with water about half way through to keep muscle loss at bay, would this still burn fat or would the body just shut off and start burning whatever it felt like.

personally i split my cardio into two days sessions a day but was just thinking to myself if i did two hours would there be any reactions within the body that would stop fat from being burned at a certain point.

    curious???

    I'm the same way.

I think it doesn't matter if he mix whatever he want into his water... BCAA's, glutamine, protein, casein... At some point, if the training is quite extense, the oxidative process of cardiovascular training will surpass the ability to process the aminoacids you're taking, leaving with a more catabolic state in favor to muscle catabolism instead of fat "burning"

Actually, I think it's better to drink water alone, and do what fireguy does; split the cardio time in various sessions.

Remember that if you're taking protein you CAN trigger the gluconeogenesis process that would convert your amino acids into glucose and you won't "burn" fat.

    great replys,

    thanks.

yeah i do split my cardio between two sessions. first thing when i wake and straight after weight training low intensity. i do an hour in the morning and 45 mins after training.

pre contest cardio is tough as its my first time but surprising how you adapt. feel like a machine after a while. i just get on with it without thinking how boring it is. i just picture a giant strawberry cheesecake with vanilla ice cream which im going to treat myself to after my comp
