Sperm problems while on real medical hrt

I am 25 years old, I have had an operation which I had one of my testicles removed as it was undecended and might cause problems or become cancerous if left how it was. This was back in 2008 and since then I was given various forms of hrt, and more recently I have been on sustanon 250 every 2 weeks, which is good on my Test levels and overall well being.

I recently decided to start a family however and after reading on here that while on hrt that sperm production is stopped I stoped my hrt. Its been 2months now since I have not had any sustanon and last week I had a sperm analysis done. The results of it were abismal, it said that there were no sperm detected and that I should re do the test. I suspected this might be the case but I wanted to clarify a few things with you guys on here first, so please help:
1. The results showed no sperm, is that what should be happening while on Test replacement?
2. How long do I have to be off the sustanon before my sperm production kicks back in?
3. I have been on sustanon for a 14 months now, will this long usage affect my sperm production and will continued use affect my sperm production?

Hopefully someone with some experience with this can help out.

You really need to speak with a doctor about this. Things like HCG may help, but I am not 100% sure and a doctor specializing in fertility would probably be your best bet.

sorry to hear...you were told that trt could cause fertility issues werent you?..i know i was...

No the stupid doctors didnt tell me of the infirtility issues with with hrt, they said they never heard of that every time I asked after reading from this site, until one of the head doctors called me the other day and finally told me why I had no sperm.

I got a doctors appointment booked in for January 10th.

Should I try to help my system with some clomid? and will there be any permanent damage to my system if I dont take clomid or hcg right now and wait until after I see the doctor on 10th? January

unless you know u can get it quickly, plan on it taking 3-4 weeks to arrive from most places - which puts you past your appointment. you could try the sponsor, i've had it take from three days to two weeks, but it's worth a shot if your up for it. As Jp said, hcg and or hmg could work well too. If I had to guess the doc will put you on one of these three.

I dont really have hope in the doctors doing the right thing anymore, he spoke to me about getting some sort of stimulation but then quickly backtracked and said that was looking too far ahead. I just hope taking my wife with me to the doctor will push him into giving me something to help.

did you have any analysis done on your count before? I still say clomid or hcg/hmg as above... you may want to go to the pct board and ask around there as well.

No no count done before, and I have a feeling that the doctors are going to use that as an excuse to not give me a stimulator to help me.

Bro, then if you feel that way take the bull by the horns - do your own research and then go for it. Then when you get another analysis done and your numbers are back up and the doc's scratch their heads and ask how - you can tell them to FO while you are making the baby you and your lady want. There is no one in control of what you do except you - it is all out there.

dude get real,surely your not saying you didnt reseach trt before you started it? low sperm,maybe hcg,but that can only do so much,trt if dose is high enough will shut down yours nuts.....your nut is not what causes you to get off,it just mixes with that other stuff in the process....stop trt if you want kids then when you have enough of them start back...good luck!

I tried everthing to convince them, printed out stuff for them to take to appointments, told them I was reading on forums, but they always told me I was wrong. I wanted to have kids and so pulled myself off the injections nearly 2 and half months ago after I didnt trust them anymore.

ruff, if you're ready to have kids now,, plan to have a low sperm count for at least 2-4 months, even with daily clomid. you can still get the wife preg, but it makes it difficult with low numbers.

the time it takes to build the count back up depends on how long you were on the trt.

you should start clomid daily ASAP,, get it wherever you can but get it. i've been told by many docs that hcg is not as successful as clomid when it comes to re-starting your sperm production.

Have they ran tests on your FSH levels as well. FSH and Testosterone work synergistically to both start and mature the process of sperm production (spermatogenesis).
Another thing to ask for is for them to run a test on your gonadotropin-releasing hormone. This is the primary hormone responsible for FSH and T production in males. Without this the Pituitary gland will not secrete FSH and those virtually no sperm production. A problem at the level of the Pituitary is typically referred to as Secondary or Central hypogonadism. Primary Hypogonadism is at the level of the testes themselves. Yet one more thing to have checked is your estrogen levels. High estrogen directly inhibits gonadotropin-releasing hormone from the hypothalamus and thus inhibits FSH.

It is a very complicated interplay and your best best is to request that they test all possible systems.

If your FSH was fine then GnRH should have also been fine, since it is responsible for FSH's release.

I had to reply to this thread bro as I know exactly what you're going through. My wife and I want to start a family so I stopped the gear; I ran HCG throughout my cycles and nolv/clomid for PCT. I had a sperm check after two months and my sperm count was zero, I shit a brick. I was advised to go back in 8 week and that test came back as 1mil sperm per ml (the norm is 20mil+). I had another sperm check a few weeks ago, six months on from stopping the gear, and i now have a 27mil per ml count.

I was told that it can take up to 12 months for your sperm count to get back to normal, so just stay clean whilst you are trying for a baby and then hit the gear when you are successful. It sucks being off for so long, I feel like shit when I look in the mirror, but some things are more important than muscles and my wife/family are just that.

Take zinc supplements too bro, they boost your sperm.

Anyways guyscan update. I took my wife to my appointment and we saw the doc, he apologised for the orevious docs not telling me that trt means no sperm. He then looked into my case and will recommend me to a fertility expert. But he said in the mean time for me to continue my sustanon 250 injections.

What do you guys think i should do? i think i might as not take them as iv been off for about 4 months anyway now and if i do then im just restarting everything i have done.

Also i got my clomid quite late and got it after my appointment so not sure if i should take it as doctors planning to refer me to fertility specialist, but that could take time so should i take the clomid?
And will it or should it help with sperm production even though iv been off sustanon for 4 months now?

I am no expert but I think that the doc telling you to stay on the sust for now may be so they can give you a couple of big shots of HCG in a test rich environment to increase the size of the testicle and then after cessation of test it will be easier for the testicle to recover.

Of course I am no doc so I could be completely wrong....

Ron i was on for about 14 months. But i was off for about 2 months when i had the sperm test.

Another update is that when i went to doctor i gave blood and had my LH and FSH checked. I think LH was 5 and FSH 12 and i think the blood test ranges were 1-10.

I also did a test sperm test last week and should be getting thise results soon, but i know that there are 3 million sperm present (i asked the doctors receptionist to atleast tell me if was the same as last time) still need to get the full results for that though as she wouldnt give me more information.

A general question on top, is taking clomid like taking test, what i mean is when you inject test your body shuts down its natural test production and you have to wait for it to get out of your system and build back up. Is that the same as clomid, will it replace my natural lh or fsh, and will getting off it mean lh and fsh have to build back up again? Or doesnt clomid work that way and is it just a aid to help increase lh and fsh without shutting lh and fsh production down?

I would run 12 week cycles maybe twice a year. I ran clomid for four weeks as PCT with Nolv.
