My GF hit a deer! Everyone told her to pick it up and eat it!

So my girlfriend was driving home and a deer popped out from the bushes and she hit it going 55 mph! (it messed up her bumper, but she's lucky it didn't wrech her truck! It was a big bambi!
She called me, I met her on the street and she was in hysterics and was so sad...

Anyways, after a day or two telling a bunch of people what happened I could believe that the overwhelming question was "Why didn't you put in the back of your pick-up?????!!!!????)

If I had hit a deer, there is no way I would think to pick it up!

    Am I the only one?????

I was raised on a farm hell yeah we do that. If you hit a deer where I live if you come back in a day its gone cause someone else will pick it up. Then again my grandpa has a moonshine still to.

I'm a texan...so hell ya i'd say pick er up and eat it. And considering it only messed up her bumper a lil at 55... that means more than likely it wasn't too big adn probably wouln't be too hard to lift. My father left a wild bore he hit on the road cus that f*cker was heavy.

What do you use? caliber bullet etc.

And I would have kept the deer, though in my state if you hit one you must tell conservation about it I don't like deer meat though Still would of ate it as a low fat food.

I've only shot one deer and that was with a .35" rem using handloaded ammo and the distance was like 25 yards.

It depends on how bad the deer is messed up after you hit it. It might not be worth eating..

Having said that I had a buddy who used to swerve to hit em so he could pick em up

Chances are if you had picked it up your GF wouldn't have been giving you any for a while. Definitely not a chick thing, though I would have picked it up.

Do you think that cows and cattle don't get ticks? I've even seen them on chickens and turkeys. No big deal.

that wouldn't matter if you just plan on eating the meat.

The guy above really did bang a deer.

That's like banging a chick who had ticks

..an ugly musky hairy 4 legged chick with ticks

Horse must be creaming his pants

Yeah, but he had a good attorney ... LOL. Where I live, not too long ago, a guy was dropped off anonymously at an emergency room with serious injuries after having had sex with a (male) horse: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8589349 The guy died as a result. LE wasn't too concerned for the guy and who else might have been involved, but whether or not cruelty to animals was involved -- their comments centered on whether men were having sex with small female barnyard animals. This coming from a state where it is legal to marry 2nd cousins and considered allowing 1st cousin marriages, but didn't for fear of the political reprisals/uproar.

Thanks, but I understood what you meant. See my repost to Narkissos above. I was referring to an incident that happened close to where I live and LE only being concerned for small barnyard animals.

I would have strapped that dead sonofabitch to the truck and carved him/her up real nice. Shit, that is good protein there my friend. Very lean meat as well.
