Flying with sharps

Wasn't sure where to put this question hopefully I can get an answer here.

Can I fly with used sharps in a proper sharps bin in my checked baggage so not my hand luggage? Or will they want get in my bag a look. I only ask as im flying from Germany to the uk and want to get rid of them and get more new ones.

Anyone done this had issues etc?

the problem I have is I live in Germany and I don't know the laws etc also not being able to speak the language is a challenge I don't want to just walk into a pharmacy with a box of sharps. I normally drive back so its not an issue.

Just take them to the pharmacy if they don't take them they will tell you who does take them and there more than likely to speak english anyway. If your that bothered tell them your a diabetic not that anybody would ask.

Put them an a plastic soda bottle with a screw on lid and toss it in the bin/trash. That's what happens to most of them. They just dont want them open in the land fills.

This is a very common;
If you or a loved one use sharps at home, you are allowed under law to dispose of them in your household trash if you take the proper precautions to secure and label the container before doing so.

Homemade Household Sharps Containers

Make your own sharps container using a heavy puncture-proof plastic bottle – like for laundry detergent. Place sharps in the bottle and when it’s full, seal it with the cap and heavy-duty tape, mark “Do Not Recycle” and simply place in your household trash.
