Aspirate tips

I know this sounds silly, but does anyone has any tips and tricks to make aspirating any easier?

I have no one to help jab my ass, so i stand in front of a 7-feet mirror and from the mirror, i couldn't tell if ever there is any blood in the syringe while aspirating coz i couldn't see the darn syringe clear enough. Thus, most times, i just pass it as OK.

if youve got that much suction, that its hard to asperate. your probably in the muscle.

when yo pull it back, if it sucks back in it self your good. if your in a vein it will just fill with blood and not go back in.

i don't know about you but i shoot more to the side of my ass cheek (not towards my crack but more towards my hip) i can see it fine without a mirror. my left side is tougher, but i'm also not left handed...

yeah, you should be able to see it if your injecting in the right area.

experience will get you through it. First trap shot I ever did I moved the needle in big circles trying to aspirate and it really hurt for a week or so. But after you do it a few times it becomes second nature. Just stick with it and it will come to you. best luck

Make sure you inject it in the right place and you shouldn't have any problem. I have never aspirated. Sometimes I see a drop or two of blood but that is ok, I guess.

why wouldn't you aspirate if you know your suposed to?

I didn’t think it is necessary. I have never seen doctors aspirating when they inject patients.

Standing up? No wonder. I'd be like one of those dogs running in circles chasing his tail, never reaching the perfect spot for it.

I just lie on the bed when I do it in the glutes. If I'm doing my right side then I lie on my left side, but at the waist I'm twisted a little more, and have my right knee/thigh lying on a pillow. This gives my right hand perfect reach, and to aspirate all I need to do is hold the syringe and push the plunger out slightly with my thumb. See a couple bubbles, plunger slides back in..good to go.

Despite other suggestions, keep aspirating. Sometimes I find it easier to lay down on my stomach to shoot my glutes...it's still awkward to aspirate, but at least I have a steady surface to support myself. Just keep it as still as possible to prevent pain soreness later.

i stand up and put all my weight on the foot of the side i'm not shooting, and put the foot of the side that i am shooting in front of me(using it and my free hand to help me balance) and aspirate with my index and bird finger, holding the plunger with thumb, pinky and ring finger. By putting my foot/leg in front of me makes it really difficult to flex that ass cheek....everybody's got their own ways of doing it though, so whatever works!

We have also decided to print this article as Dr. Ryan has had numerous obstacles in getting this published. We felt that this subject needed to be addressed.]

This whole article started with a shocking conversation I was having with a twenty year friend of mine and lifter. He was explaining about the procedure he would use to inject himself. The process of using an old/used needle to remove the solution from the bottle then applying a new ?fresh? needle to his syringe was rather shocking to me. He smiled and indicated that boastfully that he had done this for over twenty years. All I could think about were the large fibrotic lesions in his glutes that prevented him from further injection in those sites.

All too commonly the issues that are important are often never discussed by professionals until it is too late. This problem with that type of injection protocol is that you are taking a needle out of your dirty body (do you eat off of your ass?) and apply that needle, for the sake of keeping a sharp point, into a solution, just happy to grow the bacteria that is lodged in the needle and on it?s surface. Consider this, would you stick that needle into a bucket of paint then later shove that needle into your fresh bottle of EQ 200? Please consider that over the years of working medical research; I have seen bacteria grow in acid so strong you would have to open the chemical under a hood or burn your eyes and nose off ? it just takes time! NEVER STICK A NEEDLE FROM YOUR BODY BACK INTO ANYTHING THAT IS STERILE.

THESE ARE THE BASIC SAFE STEPS IN INJECTION:

1. Wash your hands and anyone else involved should wash their hands. 2. Use only clean needles to remove and inject any solution. 3. Prepare the area with a prep solution (i.e. rubbing alcohol or other sterilizer) 4. LEARN TO Z TRACK (listed below) 5. Never inject more than 5 cc?s / ml. into any one injection site. 6. Keep all items clean and dry after the injection. 7. Store all items properly.
Washing your hands may seem simple, but it is a very effective way to prevent the spread of germs and viruses.



Using a contaminated needle to remove solution from a bottle is playing Russian roulette with your health. Only use clean needles to puncture your skin or that of bottle. A single injection doesn?t dull the needle tip to any degree worth complaining about. It only helps in your head, maybe! Various prep solutions are necessary to clean the injection site; this prevents the normal bacteria that are present on the surface of the skin from being pushed into the body.

Z Tracking

This is a simple process of pulling the skin to one side to allow for a hole to be made in the skin and then displacing that same hole after the injection has been made. This displacement stops the leakage of the injected solution to the skin surface.


Wash your hands and make sure that everyone else does too.
Prepare the area with alcohol.
Prepare the injection needle and solution
Firmly displace the skin to one side.
Inject the needle and aspirate to make sure you have no blood and then inject contents appropriately.
Release the skin pressure.
Remove the needle from the injection point.
Clean and dispose of all materials appropriately.

Hey, thanks guys for the inputs. And whoa! great info from Grimnlock. The click here link doesn't have a link. Yeah, i've always tried to be as careful with injections ever since i had a cold during my 1st cycle.

I've just read the nurse guidelines on IM injection posted by Grimnlock. Some questions: it says either lateral or prone position. Not sure how lateral works out. What is best if it is self administered? It seems like some of you are lying down. I've always done it standing up, gotta strain my neck and twist my arm to get it right.

I also noticed that the nurse guideline doesn't encourage massaging the area after injection, contrary to others who commented that it'll help with the sore aftewards. It is true that whenever i get some other injections from nurses, they just shove it in and then plaster it up. No massage whatsoever. Difference is, i don't ever get a sore after those injections, but with my juice injections, there is some bit of sore the next day.

Can anyone offer some help on where to hold the syringe? I usually hold it like i see a doctor does on tv, right at the end of the syringe. It seems pretty hard for my hand to hold still and i felt as though the needle may be moving and that it may break anytime. And when compared to getting an injection from a doctor, mine just takes forever till my legs start trembling.

my advice, get a sharpi marker and make a small dot where you want to insert it in yourself. hold the needle in a fist like grip, and stab, stab so that it is fast and you break skin, go about 1/8 an inch, from there go slow and slide the rest in.. and you can take it from there..

sharpi marker? sounds like your lookin for infection.
stab? i don't know about this, but whatever works dude

then you would be injecting chemical contents found in the ink, or your going to smear it everywhere after you cleanse the area! Not sure about stabbing it fast either, going slower allows you too see/feel if there is a problem!
