Captain Bret has the best tribal tattoos on the net, in my opinion

I have this one between my shoulder blades -- it's a real eye catcher..

Nope nothing about regreat, I have a few tatts and I don't regreat one of them not even the one on my back........... what I mean tribal has been done so many times and you see it on almost every person with a tattoo. Do something different that no one has. Go custom and make it something apart of your life or your personality.

Wow... I absolutely hate tribal (usually) but that is some of the best work I have ever seen. Would you call that tribal? It almost looks like a bunch of thorns overlapping. Seriously one of the coolest tattoos I have ever seen. Bump for a closeup.

Completely agree, not to knock on the guy who started the thread, its your body. But I WOULD NEVER ask for some ideas and then just go and do it. I would only it it if it meant something, that way I would never have to look for an idea, it would already be there. IMO if you are just looking to get a new tattoo for no particular reason and have no real reason/purpose behind it than just save the money or buy a new playstation game. LMAO.

Im not looking for peoples idea's and going to get what someone else thinks I should get. I am looking for ideas to work with thats how I go about gettting tat's. Then I create the image and draw it up myself. I go with one style and work another in to it to make my own. I know what your saying I dont go in to the shop and pick something off the wall. Im right now just tossing it around thinking of things I have stuff in mind. I designed all four of my tat's except the one Japanese lettering that I have of my birth year.

Ya no worries man, I was just giving my opinion. There is a guy who was helping Nark out with his Tat, maybe you could PM him, I forget his name but it was like Ark22 or something, you can find it in the pics forum I believe.

when considering a tattoo, i would ask myself two questions,

    do i really need one?
    and
is this for me or for other people to see?

i consider myself to be an "original",i see nothing original about tattoos,i feel they take the focus away from a good physique.

but as my post hasnt helped much i will say: its your body and good luck.

That's the magic of tribal tattoos.... they're so abstract that you can take parts of it and incorporate it with something original to create something new. If there is something you like from that page you take it and run with it. I didn't just get a dragon because it's cool (or, whatever) it means something personal.

Tribal just isn't a "type" of tattoo... there is a history about it. Like egyptian scripture... it's a symbol that tells a story.

yea but if you dont get a person who speaks/writes that language you might end up with something that doesnt translate into english correctly. like britney spears tattoo that she thought mean "unique"....turns out its literal translation is "weird".

I had my tattoo artist design both of mine for me.. but what he did first was trace out the shape of my back and any other details so it looks like I was born with it.. fit on me perfectly.. and the one on my bicep he did the same so it moves really well with me..

    Have fun!

i designed all my tattoos myself. they are all very simple (i have three) and discreet, so if i have a shirt on you cant see them. wouldnt mind gettin some more, and maybe somethin else pierced aswell (nothin sexual lol). you know if you design them yourself, you have something nobody else has. but, that pic of the sleeve, looks a wicked tattoo, go for it, why would you regret it?

Make your own, or have your tatoo artist custom make one for you. Go in with some ideas, and themes, and have them draw something for you.
