If you got nailed by a brown recluse you're screwed!! The tissue around the bite will continue to die for some time. Treatment is difficult and leaves scars...sorry to hear that Ufa.

Wow! You know how to make a guy feel good. Been looked at by 2 nurses and one Doc. First, I thought it was poison oak. It had a couple of blisters.

I thought it was strange having only 2 welts with in one inch and no where else. I put bleach on it called Doc's emergency line. Went in next morning.
He stated that I was lucky I came in so soon. That it would have be twice the size the next day. Scary stuff. Google search phots and it is scary.

It was a couple of inches above ankle. It's been a couple of days exactly since I noticed bite. It is only about one inch across. It has not gotten
any worse. But, you all are scaring the shit out of me.

i've been bit three times the first (forearm) was the worst looked like the dude above mes ankle..but more puffy and red and looked like a crater in the center they had to use a huge needle to suck all the thick ass venom out...the second one(left elbow) hurt the worst cause no tissue to eat so my elbow was like permanently bent for like 2 months..the third was on my forearm again and wasnt shit compared to the others..i think i've developed antibodies against the venom..the only thing i got now is little scars..

oh the sick part is when the venom is eating the tissue in your skin it feels like bugs under your skin like a maggot moving underneath your skin..the first time i was bit my parents were trippin cause i was running around screaming that i had bugs growin in my arm..i kept hitten my forearm on anything i could.thats when they took me to the doc..they prolly thought i was crazy..

oh yea and soak the part you got bit in hot EPSOM SALT for like a few hours...it helps soften up the nasty ass puss in there then squeeze that shit out but be careful cause its under hella pressure and a white pussy oozy guiser will shoot out so be forewarned

ever watch the discovery channel with that snake doctor? he talks about them all the time how people dont know what they are talking about with them and how rare they truly are. that most people that come into his ER claiming a brown recluse bit them are just flat out mistaken.

ld-50 for widows is around 0.002 mg/kg

while reculuse its somewhere around 1.45-.48 mg/kg depending on the species (brown was towards the lower)

the lower the number, means the more potent and more "deadly" if you will...in other words, a widow is somewhere aroud 200x or more toxic than a recluse

they do have a test now they do to see if it TRULY is a recluse bite though
