humalog storage

i can get humalog from an international source. i've spoken to the rep

and he claims that the slin does not need to be refrigerated until after it is opened.

now according to the Lilly website, slin can be kept at room temp for 28 days.
(the site does not elaborate as to whether this is after first use or just storage in general)

the thing is, that i don't know how long my source stores the slin.
(before shipping)

it will take about two weeks to get to my house.

it will travel in the mail through only god knows what kind of weather.

as soon as it arrives i can pop it in the fridge.

now the questions are;

should i order the slin?

should i just get humilin-R?

should i find a new source that ships the stuff cold?

how long is the stuff good for, at room temp, before you open it?

It will be fine at room temp, but your best of storing it in the fridge.

Your slin will last a looong time if you take good care of it and keep it in the fridge at all times. But you should be all right here.
