i met a girl a month ago at work and i liked her but she had a bf....a week ago i found out they broke up so i started flirting more and being more friendly/funny and shes been responding very good...we talked online for a few hours for a few nights and she was saying things like u look so much better that this guy....and this girl is ok but i think u could do much better so i assumed she was trying to let me know she likes me.....shes always laughing around me touching me on the arm etc......but her parents are strict and dont want her gon out with guys so ive been making jokes like when are u gonna sneek out ur house for us to do some sober activities (she doesnt like to drink so i joke about that)......today i said when are u gonna sneak out ur house and come pick me up (she doesnt have a car i would pick her up but i was just jokin) and she was like im not sure if thats ever gonna happen .....should i just be more straightfoward with her and ask her out or should i just forget about it and stay friends with her ...thanks

well, in that case, ask her and mean it! screw the jokes, be straightforward. the worst that can happen is that she will say no. to be honest though, usually if you ask a girl just jokingly, and she is interested, she will respond positively, still with a joke tone, and thats when you would usually follow it up with a serious proposal lol

Just be straight forward. You could always try and win over her parents. Meet them and ask for permission to date their daughter. I've had to do that once, when the daughter wasn't allowed to date, and was too scared to sneak out. Works like a charm.

You could start small. Ask if it's ok if she comes over to dinner with your family. That one worked for me.
