Yes, in a matter of 1/2 a second he moved them back down to the entrance they had originally come out of before they ran into him...

ok look at this, the first time they met you can see the hall is not very long, but then when the camera zooms in and then back out to see the people down the hall, the hallway is 3x longer

i guess if your just trying to fool the camera and not the audience, it could just be two different people dressed the same who come in view down the hall and the others jump out of view. i mean you couldnt really confirm if it was the same people, its possible

also i heard he has professional actors in his audience sometimes to act suprised
