    Rice cakes

    I have read some were that RICECAKES put the human body in perfect anabolic state because of what it does to ur blood sugar.is this true or BS.

    I don't know about a 'perfect anabolic state,' they do spike your insulin because of the higher GI content and would be good PWO
    (thats the only time I would eat them)

    They are a lot like cereal in that they contain a good deal of high fructose corn syrup. Not good. Especially if they're coated with something tasty.

    This is recommended in the lean bulk sticky at the top... anyone else eat them PWO?

    Rice cakes aren't terrible PWO...but they aren't ideal...only eat them when bulking IMO

    Dont you think it depends on what your approach is toward PWO nutrition... whether it is low GI carbs or dex?... I would rice cakes would be in the middle, #1 ingredient is brown rice so its a slow digesting carb and it also has sugars in it depending on what kind u get. 4 rice cakes, and 30-40g dex with 45g whey i think would be good pwo... agree/disagree?

    it would be no better or worse than to use only dex or to eat a bagle so in that sense its good...

    There is nothing specificly good about rice cakes though that would make them more suitable pwo than another source of carbs.
