    Being sick and working out??

im definetly starting to get sick, like i feel some what shitty, not to bad but i have a sore throat and thats really bothering me. i went to montreal on friday and i havnt seen the gym since.

i couldnt go yesterday i needed to rest from montreal. it beat me up pretty bad. then i wake up this morning hoping to go to the gym and im ****in sick. the question i have is should i still go workout, or shoudl i let this cold pass before i hit the gym. i think it might be turning into the flu.

my problem is that i hate to miss days. when im sick i still hit the gym and hard too but i always feel that after i do i feel worse so i plan on not doing it anymore. id say if you feel that bad then dont go, getting better is more important then not missing days

dont even bother goin, 1. cause ur body is tryin to cure its sickness not repair muscle so u just lengthen the recovery time for the sickness.. 2. ur gettin other people sick, that shit is annoyin as hell when u see a sick dude at the gym,...

Working out will tax your nervous system which weakens your immune system, and that's the last thing that you want when you're sick. Just hit the vitamin C and try to take in as much good nutrition as you possibly can.

Listen to your body! If it needs a few days off to get over the sickness than let it do its job.
If you are on cycle, then still take a day or two and then try to get back in the gym as soon as you feel you can handle a good workout!

    Get well soon!!

I have always found that if I am sick, I stay out of the gym, if I train when I am sick, it just takes twice as long to recover. Let your body rest.

Does anyone stop taking their creatine when they get sick? I do thinking that if I do for some reason I'll get better faster. Dumb?

I wouldn't, creatine is just stored in your muscles, I can't think of anything it would do to hinder you getting better.

    dont feel so bad.

I just missed 2 days back-to-back because i went drinking with my brother who I never see.
Now my girl wont talk to me and I spent the last 12 hours apologizing to every chick in my cellphone who I called while I was wasted.

Oh, I also tried to superman jump over three 6' high arcade games at jillians and I ended up snagging my shirt on one and ripping it off and got a black eye when I faceplanted at the end of my stunt.

I also lost 12 pounds throwing up the last 48 hours and I found my bar tab and almost had a stroke.

So the moral of the story is, it could have been worse.

Depends how sick you truly are. Truly being the key word, Im not doubting you per se, but I think people use being a little sick as an excuse to just lay off the gym. I was very sick for a couple weeks just earlier this month (in fact still gettin over it a lil) I was on three different anti-biotics and felt absolutely terrible, I was told by the doc to take a week of school and pretty much everything else. I missed 2 days from the gym and thats it, those days because my eyes were so bad it was hard to see even if I had my glasses on, which I normally only wear in front of the computer etc.

So skip the gym if you want but dont like to yourself to make u feel better about missin the days when u know you could have gone.

More power to you. I have not had the flu in i don't know how many years, but every year i do get some kind of bad ass cold that kicks my ass. I could probably do some cardio this evening, but not in the AM. AM is when i feel the worst.

I definately do not wanna miss the gym, i am just starting to look/feel better.

I can never work out when I have a flu. A cold though, I usually will atleast get some cardio done.
