what tricks have u taught ur dog.

I used to train police and sniffer dogs in the military. Wish I had time for a dog now . . .
I trained German Shepherds to attack and release on command, look for intruders, that sort of thing, and they gave me a 15 pound Terrier (like Toto from The Wixard of Oz) to train to sniff for narcotics. Lots of fun. Best job I've ever had, too.

Mink do not use puppy pads, teach him the only right spot is outside. Think teaching him its ok to piss/sh*t in the house, even if it is on a mat. Get his ass outside always. NO MATS.

I taught my dog to sit, stay, lie down, roll over, speak (basic dog barking), shake right or left paw, show me her belly, kiss, be pretty (stand up on back legs), and sneeze.

my dog can sit, lay down, shake hands and she taught herself to eat through the molding and sheet rock when she accidentally gets locked in a room. What a freaking disaster. I have had to replace the woodwork and sheetrock 3 times in my house she is freaking crazy when she gets locked in a room.
I would put her in a crate but she bends the metal and breaks out and with the plastic crates, she just plain eats through it.

use a crate to house train him. let him sleep in there, dogs won't "usually" make a mess of their sleeping quarters, take him out of the crate and directly outside, and stay there until he does his business. then give him treats.

i agree the pads dont work...... make him do his business outside..... i have a 70lb boxer and a 70 pound shepard/lab mix and niether of them will "dotheir busineess" in the house, even if i leave them in the house and go to work.

pads do not work. everytime he is inside. i put him on pad as shit pisses or shits. somtimes he will stay and do it on the mat somtimes he will run and try to do it somewhere else. he isnt really learning which shouldnt be too hard of a concept i thought. he is outside alot playing with the new found land because of the warm winter weather at the moment. he is learning to shake hands and now takes food off my hand while sitting. he used to snatch and jump on me.

it cost me $400 for my boxer to sit/lay down/stay/heal.
house broke him in two months period taking him out every two hours.

i feed him human grade dog food to keep his coat nice and shiny without hair falling out since the food greately refelect up on dog's hair quality.

after a few months he forgot all the tricks and can now only sit and lay down on command. I gave up teaching him trick on my own, my dog is a moron.

I feed mine the yolks out of my hard boiled eggs for a treat. He loves them makes his coat shiny and keeps my cholestrol down and keep me from wasting them. Damn maybe I should get his cholestrol checked

2. Spend a little money on basic obedience training. It helps a lot especially with terriers. ( I work at a vet, so believe me I know!)...I have a 130lbs Great Dane/Mastiff mix that can stand up on his hind legs...
