Don't have a "career" yet but right now I am a manager at an HSP customer service center for Directv. I am going to college to become a registered dietician and get my masters in Health Science with emphasis on Sports Nutrition and Wellness. You can do quite a bit with that degree and if you love working out/anatomy and physiology/nutrition it is something where you can make 40-100,000 g's a year (depending on which route you choose) and still love your job...

Yeah, thats kinda what Ive been thinking about. Cuz if I have to wake up and go to my job, of course you want it to be something you like and whatnot. Do they really make 100gs?

I'm in sales and sell fitness equipment. I like my job. Its pretty easy for me. Dealing with problems out of my control is the like Service and delivery issues is my biggest pain.

My salary is 45k plus commission and bonuses. I should make around 80k this year.

you CAN make 100 g's + depending on region, length of position and type of position. The RD's who make that much usually obtain more licenses and MAster degree's and work as food managers or consultants. check out ada.org for more info. What I want to do is do personal consultation and work with professional/college sports teams in bettering their training and overall fitness through working out/nutrition/supplementation. I'd probably start out at around 45,000 depending on what state I wanted to live in.....

I'm a systems engineer for AT&T. I have a CIS degree. My certifications include a CCNA, CCNP, CCIE (#13894 Routing and Switching) and an expired MCSE. I design large, complex voice and data networks for large enterprise accounts. I'm a subject matter expert for VoIP and IP Telephony for AT&T. My salary is $118K.

I could make more at another company, but my benefits with AT&T are entirely too attractive. Besides, I've been with AT&T for over 9 years now and I'm pretty well vested. Including a fantastic pension plan.

I'm a Petroleum Engineer, i worked on some offshore rigs and the money was good and the time off was good also it was month-on/month-off, and i used to workout there with the few machines they had and dumbells, after a year i got sick of the repetition and i wasnt motivated to work out because i wasnt doing any fight training which is what i like the most (MMA). I used to go to thailand on my month off and train at a Muay Thai camp.

I switched to the office job for less money and started a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class at night three times a week, the class started with 3 people, then grew to about 21 people each paying $80 a month so it was a good extra income plus i had all these begginers to practise all my moves on (i know its mean).

The Jiu-Jitsu class pretty much pays my rent and bills every month. And from my Petroleum job i make about $80K a year tax free.

Its good money, the job sucks big time, if i ever got a chance to be a professional fighter for less money then i would take it anytime without hesitation.Right now i'm actually building a house and i hope to purchase another one this year, renting out those two houses i will be able to leave this job and go on my own and experiment with business and my iterests.

Engineering is attractive when you in college because you want to make money, but beleive me i have seen all engineers wether its new graduates or guys who have worked 40 years in the business, its the least rewarding job ever, the majority end up losing everything, their family, their health, their personality, all for some extra cash which you never really get to enjoy.

Plus engineering wont save your life on the streets like martial arts will......unless your McGuyver

im a fully qualified mechanical engineer, but i hated it so i got into the building game(construction) and loved it.a few years ago me and my brother in law set up our own business specialising in insurance work.

insurance companies ring us up to go and see customers with water damaged ceilings and such like.we then tell them how much it will cost to fully repair and decorate,we do the work and get a cheque in the post.

it can be hard work because you might have to board and skim a different ceiling everyday for weeks, but it pays great, last tax year i earnt £60,000 (about $120,000) 45% of the profit.and in england thats decent money

    Jakked,
If you really care about helping people and doing something different then everyone else, then I would strongly consider the fire service. I am not going to sit here and tell you that it is all glamourous because the first time you have to wake up at 3 in the morning because some woman has a sore finger and wants to be checked out, youll know what im saying. But if you have a GENUINE passion and caring for people and helping, as well as quite a bit of adrenaline to spare, then go for it brother! I wont be able to do anything else for the rest of my life because I have found what I love in the fire department!!

Anyone in here work in a Home Depot, Lowes or Menards? I really like building materials and fixing up homes, I went to one sememster of College for Construction Technology, I realized I didn't want to bust my ass doing construction the rest of my life, but still like building stuff and remodeling. So I thought starting to work for one of the building retailers would be good, then once I finish my management degree move up to management. I heard that assistant department managers in Menards make 40-50k then moves up to 70k for department managers, over 100k for assistant store managers, and up to 300k after bonuses and profit sharing for some of the biggest store managers. I don't know how true this all is but it is comming from someone that I trust that worked there for a summer??

Menards is a family owned Chain that isn't publicly traded. It is in 11 states in the midwest, growing pretty big, alot of good profit sharing, but I've heard some mixed reviews on working for them. But anyjob is going to have that. Getnjakked is he in management for lowes? Whats the income like?

There's two specialties i'm looking into, pediatric oncology, and spine surgery. The first pays around 400k annually, and the second a bit over a mil. Both of those figures are averages for the area in which i live.
