You are correct, there is no comparison...US Navy SEALS are walking lethal weapons. That is the only way to describe them.

What if instead of 300 spartans, it was 300 AR roid raging members!!!!!!!
We would take the world by storm. Then we can inject SEAL blood into our muscles.
aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Armed with knives, swords, and shields, I'd say the Spartans. Hand to hand I don't know. The Seals are definitely tough but the Spartans had been raised since childhood to be warriors, and nothing else. They didn't start when they were 18 or up. I'd personally go with the Spartans, if they were physically equal in strength. Of course, no steriods use by the SEALS permitted.

as a true pure blood spartan... if 300 of my uncles were enough for 100000 of persians, i think 5-5 is not really fair to seals...
all jokes on a side, different time diferent people, but endurance on spartans is one of the best in the world fight history, they used to travel 40 milles nonstop to get to the battle ground and attack right away... (according to history book timings)
MOLON LABE!!!! ((( come and get it )))
What about....1 Chuck Norris vs. 300 Spartans??
if there were 300,000 Spartans they might have a shot, who else but Chuck can do a roundhouse kick in tight jeans???Originally Posted by SVTMuscle
DUDE...obviously the seals would win. They are a part of the navy and the spartans fought in the nude. Need i say more![]()
I have to disagree with you guys, i belive that spartans where well trained soldier as much, if not more, than Seals...Spartan society was based solely on strengh and military training due to this childs where send to Gym to practice in martial arts in the very early years.
For a Spartan to loose was not a choice, when soldiers went to war their wife/mothers gave them the shield to bring along and usually told them:" with this or on this", meaning or to come victorious or death. Spartans couldn't never flee from a battle was because a coward Spartan were not allowed to go back in the city anymore.
In those years they trained in a cruel martial art called "pan-kratos" (those of you that palyed God of War on the ps2 can see something familiar), that means "all body power", it is considered by many the ancestor of modern close quarter combat: It was a ferocius fighting style including punch, kicks, bites, throws and ground combat... Spartans (greeks in general) used it even to disarm an enemy by breacking their fingers, blinding them or cause a permanent body damage. In thoise times it was common for Spartan to move war against someone, being another greek polis (city) or a foreigner country and considering that Spartans were heavy armored infantry it is logical to suppose that they were trained in face to face combat more than any modern soldier..
Regarding the use of steroids they were even aware on some diet info: they knew gonads held the "masculinity" power, so in spartan warriors diets gonads of different types of animal where included, add to this olive oil, meat, fish and cereals and you see why they used to have amazing bodies. Proove that they knew how a muscular phisycue had to be are given by their statues, just look to example at the "Hercules Farnese", a roman reproduction of a greek work and i bet that many on this board will envy the shape of that body...

The Spartans were trained, constantly from the time they were 8 to about age 60 when they were allowed to retire... They took their knowledge from hundreds of years of fighting experience and applied it to their everyday training... We still have no idea how they trained or fought (hand to hand)... Navy Seals are trained far less extensive and a lot less longer than these guys... True, Navy Seals learn martial arts and what not, but most martial arts stem from an ancient source, and I'm pretty sure the Spartans fighting style was unique it its own encompassing many fighting arts... My personal vote goes to the Spartans hand to hand, they know their way around on the battlefield a lot better then a SEAL would (negating modern technology)... Not only that they've practiced this stuff since they were 8, whilst the Seal more then likely is in his first years knowing what he knows...
Well, n/m, I guess we know what martial art they practiced after all, didn't read through all the posts... Good info though... But again, I stand by my conclusion.
I finished the 2006 academic year in early January and I've been on holiday. Now that the 2007 year is starting back up, I'm back in the office. I'll be around for a few months until summer vacation. Thanks for remembering me!! I'm gonna study your M1T thread closely because I can legally buy it here in Japan. Cheers!!Originally Posted by UpstateTank
