Doesnt matter if you compete or not...its something he obviously enjoys...and WANTS to do. He said he dreaded hearing those words so he obviously WANTS to be bigger so what does competing have to do with it AT ALL? And comparing it to my wife shaving her head...thats the stretch, not what I said about dreams. Shaving her head is something totally out of the blue and never done before, working out/getting bigger is something he has been doing for a long time.Originally Posted by gixxerboy1
So I cant really say you really read what I wrote properly or are just making very poor comparisons.
i agree about the shaving a head not being a dream and maybe not a good comparison.. I just couldn't think of a good example of what would make your wife unattractive to you.Originally Posted by C_Bino
Because i look at it as if your not competing its a hobby. Maybe a very serious hobby. And its not like most wives would divorce you for getting to big. But why cant she be honest and say her opinion that she doesn't find it attractive. I would be more hurt that my wife didn't find me attractive anymore then hurt by not getting to 275lbs. I think it a little selfish that someone would put a hobby in front of a spouses happiness. And its not like she is asking you to give up working out or your hobby.
That's just my opinion.
You can never have enough money and you can never be too big.
Oh of course I agree she can have her opinion man lol. Im jus sayin I have seen it happen too many times that people give up what they enjoy doing for someone elses happiness. That to me is just something I could never do and I dont think people should have to. Im not an asshole either, sure I understand sacrifices need to be made and I am usually the first to do so. But when it even is just a hobby, its something you love, something you look forward to, and if gettin bigger is his overall goal she should be happy when he acheives it not discourage it.Originally Posted by gixxerboy1

I would agree that having to give up the gym would be a big issue. I guess i just don't have the desire to be huge so i don't really understand how important it may be to someone.Originally Posted by C_Bino
I do see your point too. I'm shocked nobody said to leave her
Thanks C I see exactly where you are coming from and I don't think the other posters catch your drift.Originally Posted by C_Bino
It's not a body fat issue guy's! It's a size issue. I'm 36 and have been working on size ever since I was a piss ant in junior high school. She doesn't think I'm fat ..well some of you bro's might think someone above 10-12% body fat is. at my BF I just don't have the abs but the stomach is flat (before a huge meal)
I will compromise to keep her interested, some guys are not into muscle chicks which is evident by a pic I posted a few weeks ago. But she came into this thing with me pretty much at the size I am now and then saw smaller pics..where I happend to have at least 2% more BF but 30 lbs less and thought I looked better smaller. Her comments were when we met "don't get any bigger" but now I am too big..so go figure...<jeez> women!
It's a little bit of a mind **** to me that she said that to me.
Now that I told her about this thread and a few of thre responses.. she changed her tune to
" I meant you didn't have to get any bigger for me"
Women are crafty and that is not what she meant at all..
I had girlfriends that loved me being big and had no problem with me getting bigger..Maybe I need to find another one of those if this is an issue for her.
How are we expected to trust women if they say one thing and then change what they said at the drop of a dime when they sense trouble in the relationship. One day maybe I'll have a straight up trooper who speaks only the truth to me. This one has one thing going for her, she has the nicest ass I've ever seen.I'll see what I can do about a pic on Friday for you guys (of the ass)
Anyway I'm getting way off topic here and that should be another thread in itself... "why do women lie so damn much"![]()

Like a lot of others said, do what makes YOU happy. As long as you are confident and YOU know YOU look good, then people will find you attractive and want to be around you. Lots of people say I'm too big, some say I'm perfect right now and I should stop. I HAVE had a few girls in the past say that I am too freaky big. If they say that to me then wtf would they say about a PRO? lmao right now I'm 6'3" 260+ at around 11%bf... they would faint if they saw ronnie coleman haha
They think the pro's are insanely too big
if a girlfriend ever told me that, ide tell her shes fat.
seriously tho...i dont think thats up to her..she should respect your passion and be less selfish in my opinion.
well I set high standards for any woman I am in a relationship with, and if she is doing something that makes her unattractive to me (chewing with her mouth open, saying "like" all the time, gaining weight, etc.) I will tell her I want her to stop. If after a while it doesn't change and I am still unattracted then I will find someone else. If a girl I LOVED told me that getting any bigger would turn her off I would tone it down a notch for her but ONLY if I truly loved her.Originally Posted by thetank

I'm sure I can find another woman out there that will appreciate that what I do in the gym also translates into sexy in the bedroom
As BMI goes up, regardless whether it's fat or muscle (though, it scales better for muscle) the load on the cardiovascular system is increased, putting you at greater risk of heart attack, stroke, or vascular blowout. You definitely can be "too big" when your health is concerned.
i can see where you are coming from...but your talking about annoying habits that someone should really kick anyways, but what about asking your girlfriend, the artist lets say, not to paint...or something like that..if she thought buddy was too fat, it would be a different story..but were not talking about a guy whos let himself go..and were not talking about idiosyncratic indiscretions....this is something that i assume is very important in his life..that was a part of it before she was(right??) so i dont know..it jsut kind of seems like a bit of a superficial request between people that 'love' each other. for me, being big, and getting bigger is a part of who i am...and the moment a girl asks me to change a part of who i am, when they knew thats who i was when they met me, is the moment i question our relationship and the whole idea of sacrificial commitment. obviously thats just my opinion...people kill and die for love...so maybe my experience just hasnt put someone in my life yet thats worth that kind of sacrifice...so untill it does all i can really say is to each his own. yo. cause one thing i know for sure, is making hypothetical decisions is alot easier than real ones.Originally Posted by Superhuman
what i want to know, tho...is how ****in big are you benches505?? i hope your some kind of ridiculous hoss for your girlfriend to ask that of ya. (just read up...270 lbs..guess that is pretty big. lol)how tall are you? do you have any pics of your current build? lol it would be interesting to see exactly how big this girls standard of "too big" is.
You know its funny when i was about 220 after I stopped my bulking cycle, which is the heaviest I have ever weighed nobody said anything about me getting bigger. But after I started cutting and dropped about 15 LBS and started getting really vascular and ripped out. All of a sudden I was getting huge to everybody. WTF
People always tell me im getting huge when Im fat and tell me Ive gotten smaller when I cut.
I wish it was that way for me..cuz it makes me hate cutting that much more, yet I never really lose all that much LBM from cutting..
I feel you chest6,
The way I figure it is that I was ripped all my adult life nevermore than 6 or 7 % body fat because I had to run constantly for baseball. But now I want to be big and maybe not so cut anymore just to changes things up. Which for the past year or so Im a really fatty. LOL
