When I was in college and lived in a tiny studio apt and never ran the AC my bill was $12.
Keep in mind size of the house and the ton of the ac unit or units will effect the bill greatly...
Big ass house big ass bill......

You need to check for a leak, you might have some loose duct work.

I keep my ac on 24/7 and mine was $160 and i thought that was high. But i also make sure all lights are off at all times. And when they are on i keep them dim. I dont like a bight house it hurts my eyes.
I find lights and tv's are killer on the power they draw.
i actually called some friends and the bill was actually up to par with others who have similar sized houses, its just exspensive in az in the summer. cant wait for next month as july n august r the worstOriginally Posted by muriloninja

Bmp1, do you know what type of air conditioning system you have? You may want to consider installing an evaporative cooler. They would work great in your climate and they're very cost effective/efficient.
$58 with budget billing. AC on all the time 70 degrees, small 2 bedroom house. My furnace is gas though, hence the budget billing.
