I'm tight with both my parents. I go to my dad for more professional things, like work, school, money, etc. advice because he's been a top tier business guy his whole life. My mom I go to for gossip, relationship stuff, ranting about life, the more social things in life. I have mostly the same ideologies as my parents, but they have a traditional mindset but this never causes any issues. They respect my views on life, and I respect theirs.
