I would recommend not using WU, not only is is risky to send money to someone you don't know but they are a bunch of dodgy bastards. Phuckin retards can....

If you send money using WU or Money Gram online using a credit or debit card, when they process the transcation they put a hold on your account. The hold checks to make sure you have the amount available. If the transfer is canceled it takes 3-5 days for the hold to drop from your account and the amount becomes available for you to use.
No, the did not take your money. It's just part of the process.
