Tried to take my money man....

So I had tried to get some booster juice from an online source. The source required me to use Western Union (even though the clearly said visa?). So anyway I pay, get a message from WU saying that I have to call to complete the order. I call and they tell me the transaction was declined (no idea why as I have plenty of credit etc).

The next day I check my statement and they have taken the money! I call them and they try and say they haven't and that my bank probably put it on hold etc I don't think so. Bank says otherwise so I filed a dispute and my money is on its way back to my account. In the mean time WU gets to make money off my credit. Phuckers!

I would recommend not using WU, not only is is risky to send money to someone you don't know but they are a bunch of dodgy bastards. Phuckin retards can....

The hold checks to make sure you have the amount available. If the transfer is canceled it takes 3-5 days for the hold to drop from your account and the amount becomes available for you to use.

Standard practice. Even if you go to restaurant. When they run your bill say its $200 they might put a hold on $300 to cover the tip and everything. Then when it post it will be the exact amount you charged.

Regardless I guess lesson learned as stated. In-between this whole fiasco I actually found a domestic source so WU can kiss my fury bean bag. Their loss.

While trying to keep within the board rules..... I will say however that it can be (as I am sure most know) hard if you're not hooked up with a source and frustrating at the same time. I guess it's tough shit though and you can always have patience and contribute to the community until able to get a check. I was using manufactures sites to verify online sellers but I guess even that is no real guarantee. No big deal now anyways, no money lost and I got what I wanted in the end........

no say your bill is 200. well they run your card before you sign it. So they might put a hold on a total of $300. that way if you leave a $50 tip plus the $200 bill it goes through.

There really are not too many ways to avoid having some sort of trail leading to you.

However, you could use a hotel computer.

Lots of the people that work at them tend to pay no attention to who walks in the door, and a lot do nor require room numbers, or passocodes to use.

They just sit there in the lobby, so anyone can hop on and check their e-mail.

Anyway, say you use an MO, well odly enough, that still leaves a trail. Your bank recors will show that amount getting withdrawn on the day the MO was made.

Just make sure that if you ever get arrested, you ask for your lawyer before saying anything else.

Rule #2 if you can't avoid them, ALWAYS go to a WU counter in person with CASH, never leave a paper trail using your credit card or bank account...

I use cash at WU. No credit card. They never ask for ID either.
