It varies for me, lately I've been listening to metal, Trivium, Tool, Metallica, Drowning Pool, etc.

I only listen to music when I do cardio, so I can talk to peeps. It is just going to depend on your taste, then go to the lively end of the spectum of what you like to listen to. I like a lot of variety, I listen to everything from britney spears to techno to alt rock to rap.

I like metal, but I find that some of the complicated riffs and drum beats distract me. I find my mind trying to pick apart the music instead of focusing on the lifts. I prefer heavy, slow, rock, some alternative, and rap. I like songs with simple beats that are close the rhythm of my workout. Cardio I can pretty much listen to anything.

    Yeah buddy!

And yes almost forgot about good ole slipknot and mushroomhead! I like a lot of avenged sevenfold stuff, but for lifting prefer their older albums like sounding the seventh trumpet and waking the fallen.

For HIIT cardio, i listen to the rocky 4 soundtrack......Its the only thing that gets me through it.....I time my playlist so that the final fight sequency is for the last couple intervals.......

i swear to god, extreme pain, MOTHERUFCKINGEXTREME PAIN, while listening to rocky 4 and closing out to the final fight, is like cumming

its such a great moment with such a great high

you guys have to try this some time, you wont regret it

    GO for it (rocky 5)
    eye of the tiger
    burning heart
    training montege
    hearts on fire
    final fight

i think thats exactly 30 minutes, the time of my HIIT cardio
