    etoricoxib or naproxen

Ive got prescribed Etoricoxib (arcoxia) by the doctor for my tentontitis and have done a little research on it it it sounds like it has alot of side effects. I have some Naproxen that i got a while back that i didnt take, my questian is should i use the Arcoxia which will be 90mg for 5 days or use the Naproxen will will be 1000mg for 2 weeks. Which will be the best and more effective. I also had some Omeprazole to protect the stomach.

that's a pretty high dose of naproxen over a pretty long period of time. i know you have the omeprazole, but still, i am unsure of the safety of that dose. can you not check with your doctor about which would be better?

Naproxen 500mg bid (twice a day) is a normal dose.

shit i don't go over 400mg naproxen ED, if i use it. NSAIDs have also been shown to slow protein synthesis. i think you made the right choice. grams of pain relievers just doesn't sit well with me.

Not familiar with it. It is not approved in the U.S. But, it's chemical name is similar to America's Celebrex.

I have used Naproxen 2x a day at 500mg each. Had no problems. Although it was for a pretty bad back injury. Also, the second time I used it I was also using flexerol and vicadin (Dr prescribed).

I used it for about 10 days. At first I was taking Vicadin and Flexerol with it because my back was pretty jacked up. I stopped taking those and continued taking Naproxen after about day 5. I don't think I noticed any sides from the Naproxen. Maybe slight constipation with the other two, but nothing serious.
