Thread: cutting and carbs?? pwo,pre or both?

    nope i am not taking any fast acting carbs in my preworkout, i dont want to cause an inslulin spike. a lot of debate have been goin around on this subject.
    any ideas?

    Well from what i read if you take slow acting carbs right before your workout by the time the body breaks down the food and starts using it for energy your workout will be over.

    I to wasn't a fan of fast acting carbs but i am currently giving it a try. I take just under a 1:1 with my protein.

    This is why most people eat a slow acting carb (aka complex carb) an hour before their workout. 1 cup of oats fuels my workout.

    this is what am doing at the moment:
    pre wo:2am: 2chicken breasts, 1 large salad bowl(tomatoes,cucember,lettuce).
    pwo:shacke: 2whey proteins scoops.
    an hour later oats+lean proteins source.

    Why are you waiting an hour pwo to consume carbs? You need them immediately! PWO they are more important than protein. You should have a ratio of 1:2 (protein:carb), most go with around 40 grams of protein with 80 grams of carbs.
