well if it's a cop asking I certainly have not broken any laws. and if we are talking about feds online, if they ask they already know so your not revealing anything they do not know.
can they use the statement from your online persona as evidence to get a warrant on the source? I'm not familiar with how the drug laws interface with the internet, if this is so then I can understand for sure. But if not why in the hell would a fed ask anyway?
In real live life cops can not use such information to go and get a warrant to search a house. They must get the snitch to do a controlled buy before they get the warrant. Simply snitching on a source is not enought for the cops to do anything legally.
I just can't imagine a fed asking if so and so is a legit source without having accurate information already.
What am I missing? The rules about recreational drug references for one thing...
