    Its been a couple years since i've used western union and i can't remember. DO they make you show your id?

    depends on the person at WU.

    always best to use real name in case you need to get your money back.

    never once yet. no one i know has ever been id'd here locally. i think depends on the branch/city/state/country.

    No, but like Derek said, if something happens and you need to change something or you need to get your $$ back you are going to want to have ID for the name you used.

    and using a fake ID can just cause more possible problems.

    I always had to show mine at a local gas station. Then i went and used wu at the grocery store i frequent everyday and they didn't ask for anything. Weird.

    if one gets scammed ect when sending funds via wu they offer no money back gurantee at all,funds are sent at own risk,i got fuked for 1000 uk pounds and spent the whole day trying.

    unless you mean get your money back before it is recived then i agree

    once it's picked up, it's gone. so, trust your source.

    I mean also if you need to change receiver or whatever.

    If I need to send more than 1K, I split it and go to two different WU locations. I wish I could do this online.

    I used my real name for that very reason, in case I needed to get my money back.
