I am well aware that there is already a thread or two on this forum and other forums about this exact topic, but there really is no really scientific answer out there or on the internet.
Some background: I like to sing and have been singing all my life. I sang in a lot of rock bands in high school and I still enjoy singing and playing music, although I now don't have a band anymore.
I already started a mild steroid cycle and am actually nearing its completion, but i'm only test e 500 mg/week. My voice hasn't really changed, I have the same range and everything seems fine, but sometimes (maybe it's just me) I feel like I can't hit some notes anymore. Granted i've been out of practice, but it worries me none the less.
Any other singers on this board? Has AAS deepened your voice??? I would hate to drastically limit my range.
I guess the real question I want to know is: Do high androgen levels thicken the vocal folds of a post-puberty male?? Because I know that growth plate fusion doesn't affect the larynx. I've also heard that AAS will make a male's voice higher?
