    WU question

My research supplier wants me to use WU for payment. They said they need me to verbally request that the ID requirement be waived for the funds receiver and that I need to use the test question/answer. The transaction cannot be done online or over the phone but at a WU location only. It just seems ridiculous imo, and points toward suspicious activity on both ends.

Anyone have to do this? Is it a big deal?

    Thanks in advance,
    Leth

Why would you consider this to be ridiculous?

I don't know. I guess it implies a transaction that is likely illegal, but maybe not.

One more question: If I am providing a test question and answer on the form, what's to stop a WU agent from stealing my money if they know that info and don't need an id?

If you were going to supply person(s) with something borderline legal or illegal would you want to provide them with your true name and location or would you prefer to be able to pick up funds and remain anonymous???

I've used WU only a couple of times but never had to use the test question/answer so maybe it raised my anxiety a little bit. But it sounds like it's common and I don't have to worry about anything. I appreciate the fast replies. I need to hang around this board more.

It's really not a big deal. It's the way it is done, usually. Just make sure you tell them to waive id on the other end. That's the only thing you have to say; everything else is on the form.

If you trust your source you should be fine, I have used WU numerous times with a test question so that they don't need to show any ID
