second, only a retard would smoke before they lift, kills the intensitity, just plain stupid.
smoking wont hurt ur cycle, hell im one of the biggest smokers around here, but be responsible with it....
and if u are a rookie and get crazy muchies, dont smoke....
Well, I used to be a pot head!!! And I mean bad! I smoked and lifted all through out college and never had a problem with gains or anything. Now one thing I did not do was work out high. It was prbably the only thing I did do sober. I lost focus if I did and wasn't quite as motivated. Others state the opposite though. I am unsure of how it reachs chemically and such with your body and gear and all so I won't comment on that. I will say this..
Everything in moderation my man. I unfortuently am not one who can moderate smoking pot. It's all or nothing. So when my son was born I went with nothing. Don't miss it much at this point.
when I 1st started aas...i would smoke occasionally..but my high didnt last as long though kinda weird
well it doesn't affect gains like alcohol does, which is unfortunate because I like to drink but I don't smoke anything
i totally quit the green monster about 3 months ago and ive never felt better, its super demotivating to me...besides it seems counter-intuitive to a healthy lifestyle....kinda felt like a hypocrite gettin my diet and lifestyle perfect and then sittin down and takin a huge bong rip...lol
1 A few studies have suggested that heavy marijuana use may have a reversible, suppressive effect on male testicular function.2 A recent study by Dr. Robert Block has refuted earlier research suggesting that pot lowers testosterone or other sex hormones in men or women.3 In contrast, heavy alcohol drinking is known to lower testosterone levels and cause impotence. A couple of lab studies indicated that very heavy marijuana smoking might lower sperm counts. However, surveys of chronic smokers have turned up no indication of infertility or other abnormalities.
Less is known about the effects of cannabis on human females. Some animal studies suggest that pot might temporarily lower fertility or increase the risk of fetal loss, but this evidence is of dubious relevance to humans.4 One human study suggested that pot may mildly disrupt ovulation. It is possible that adolescents are peculiarly vulnerable to hormonal disruptions from pot. However, not a single case of impaired fertility has ever been observed in humans of either sex.

i smoked for 14 years and you just gota have the balls to stop it, havent touch tobacco or the other in 8 years now, 6 months after stopping i was 40lbs heavier and shifting more weights than i thought possible, smoking of any sort will hold you back
not sure about tht, but i have read it lowers testosterone, and aswell a tht its a mental health issue, im sick of hearing 'ah sure its harmless' etc, its far from harmless, made me as paranoid as a rabbit for along time, harmless my ass, just kick it mate, your bigger than it![]()
When I was younger I used smoke to get more intense workouts. It worked for me very well. Now that Im older I dont use it anymore unless its poker night.
i have had no issues with estrogen and THC.
i dont care what the studies say, if everything else is in place, diet/training u will have no issues...
I smoke on the weekend. I tapering it down tho, I like to play ps3, smoke, and eat on my cheat day. I also think it lowers sperm count, fatty deposits in the chest area, lowwers oxegen in the blood, lowers drive and ambition. But its way better than drinkn alchol or poppn pills. Sumtimes I think its ok to just chilax..
I personally can smoke right before and when i was 20 i was smoking while lifting very heavy. It took me several weeks of doing this, but i wasn't doing anything else so i just smoked and gradually got better at lifting while using or "high". Its great to relax with, but like 6ft5^^^ said, if you can taper off of it, then its gonna be for the better i guess? I have searched for actual research to prove the bad sides, and there aren't any, so i will probably smoke until i get a bada*s job that makes me or a wife and kids that make me stop. Otherwise, i feel like getting done with a workout and smoking before or while drinking your shake will just make it taste that much better... Like up in smoke says, just get everything else right first, then start smoking with it. If you still get the munchies i wouldn't advise it with trying to get your diet in check?

how is dangerous? aspirin or caffeine are more dangerous, weed is the safest drug on the planet and if you use it in food and dont smoke it there is no chance of cancer. just dont drive around and eat weed cookies and you will be ok.
weed is better than drinking your liver rotten and killing yourself and others....i stop smoking weed for job reasons..and i dont drink at all ...i guess the only habit i have is energy drinks : P

Most of these posts are not necassarily "pro-weed." Some people are saying that it's (generally) not as harmful as alcohol, which is probably true.
Personally, I have to stay away from pot....it's all completely an issue with my diet. I have absolutely no control over what foods I eat or how much of them I eat when I am high.

Weed is definitely the most harmless of all the recreational drugs in most respects, including as relating to bodybuilding. But that is not to say that it is harmless, just less so than other substances. Bottom line though is that it is a drug, it is illegal, and it will probably lead to at least some "complications" in your life. That being said I would prefer if my own children decide to use weed instead of alcohol. Alcohol is such a postentially life devestating drug and is made even more so by its acceptance in our society.
As far as relates to bodybuilding though: I used to love to work out high. I felt i was in "the zone" and could really connect with my muscles. But the munchies would wreak havoc on my diet.
So.....to each his own. See how it fits in your life and make an ADULT decision.
