    advise please?

ok so here it is, my first post. im an 18 year old strongman (dont jump to conclusions yet) around 290lbs @6ft and i am looking to do a mild first cycle, i know im young and alot of people will tell me to wait, but i have researched alot and have a good gym crew around me. i have big goals that i want to achieve, i have just got into the open strongman circuit and can hold my own but that isnt good enough for me, i need to kick it upto the next level if i want to start challanging nationals and then eventually get on the international scene. now we all know this isnt going to happen with the use of aas, and still you might say "you have plenty years left" but look at the strongman circuit now, you have guys like Johannes Årsjö, kevin nee, Martin Wildauer and Stefan Solvi Petursson, (i could go on)all under 25. you think they waited untill 21 for there first cycle, i think not? fair point?

ok enough of the little rant.

i was thinking of doing a 12 week course of test e 250mg per week, so not a high dose at all, i was thinking this would give me the chance to push that little harder while keeping sides to a minium and seeing how i react to test, if it isnt enough i can always bump it to 500mg per week. and for pct nolva (any other suggestions?)

all advise is very welcome. thanks in advance.

    This is a tough one.
You would def. Benefit from doing a cycle.
18 is pretty damn young though, You "could" run into serious problems in the future.
It comes down to a moral dilemma for me and I would advise you to wait.

I would ask ur crew and wait for some strongmen to post here.

thats the problem, i have to weigh the pro's and con's up, which is easier said than done.

    DON'T..
i love functional strong man training and its a great passion but PATIENCE is a VIRTUE
20 is the bare effin minimum i'd say to start utilizing aas.. because i can tell you this, firstly strongman is not a lifetime career.. injury is always a prominent occurrence, so no need to be too eager to jump on the bandwagon.. kuz the sooner you get on it the sooner you will probably get off it.. 2ndly once you start.. its going to be a round the year ordeal. your going to need to be ALWAYS gaining Strength and size.. but maintain stamina as well.. so you will always be on.. and swapping different compounds to acquire said attribute so the longer you can hold out.. the better off you will be. if that makes sense

it isnt a career no, but i feel this is irrelivent. its my passion and i want to be at the top and it wont be an all year round thing, maybe a boost for comp prep but thats it. i feel that i may miss the boat so to speak if i wait too long.

If gyno pops up take.25mg of AI ed until subsides then .25mg every injection day. That should be better for you than taking it eod to prevent bloat.

If you are sure you will not regret it, then go for it...

The question is: can you be sure?

I was your age when I started, and if I could give some advice I would say wait a couple years. As far as just using it for a kick come comp time, if this is your passion that will not be enough. I was just as dedicated as you and IMO using at such a young age opened me up to the whole host of injuries I have had over the past 7 years. As well, now I am 34 years old, and my doctor is telling me my test levels are at the very low end of normal. Not low enough for TRT according to him, but low enough that I can REALLY tell in the gym, in my sex drive, motivation and depression. That has been this way since I was in my mid 20's and that will never change.

I know that it just my situation, and you may not have the same issues...But you could, and personally I would wait a few years and minimize the chances of it.

I'm glad you've posted, someone having the experiance of starting aas at my age. and you say it opened you up to injuries you have now, but was that really the result of aas or just not taking care of your recovery properly? i.e contrast/ice baths, foam rolling, massage and stretching everyday?the long term effects of lower test is something in willing to deal with if that means going far in this sport, which I believe I can.

I think you can go far as well just by your dedication and natural size, but it may be a case where you would go further yet if you wait and train naturally for a few more years, and that could give you a longer life in your sport. My recovery was never a problem, its bone and joint issues now that I have that can be cause as a result of using aas at a young age. Not saying its 100% the problem but IMO its part of the whole. Starting aas before your bones and joints are fully developed IMO/experience can cause some pretty serious problems. As well I started strength training to young which I am sure also caused some issues.

Like I said, its not forsure that my problems will become your problems, but personally I would hold off and minimize the chance. Would you rather have 4-5 good years in strongman, then a life time of pain (that is my situation now) or wait a few years, still do very well in those years then start aas when your fully developed and kick some major ass for years in the sport.
