also, i recomend you carry your gear in your pocket (assuming its just 4-5 10ml vials), as if you get caught going on the plane it is no big deal since it is not a security problem it is only a u.s. law problem. airport security wwon't take it from you, and U.S. customs will more than likely be scanning your bag. Thats how i do it coming from turkey from time to time to ireland with no problems.
