would you of shot bin laden or took him alive

If it was just you and bin laden, would you of shot him or tried to take him alive so he had to stand trial for his crimes?

I would have shot him. What good is he alive? Fvck a fair trial. The thousands of people he was responsible for killing didn't get a fair chance. He should have been shot in both knees and both elbows and then put in a box full of fire ants.

Best to kill him - alive makes no sense at all - after all they released the lockerbie bomber...

Dead due to the savings to the taxpayers as it would have cost us millions of dollars to bring him to justice not to mention all the security needed for his dumb ass and ours.

    I really don't know.
yes, I would have no issues pulling the trigger myself.
But I Personally havent' thought it through all the way, and I've been burned too many times by "unintended consequences".
There are Pro's and Con's to both actions.

So think about this for a moment, killing bin laden swiftly, and then pause for a moment and consider the benefits to the world when we took our time and put Saddam Hussein on trial.

killed definetly. But it would have been nice to have a video or picture of him alive with the US soldiers to show the world before killing him. LOL

You have to shoot him. If not he would be appealing for years while costing us millions.

I see your ideology behind this but don't you think Sadam was a little different? He was the leader of an entire country and we allowed his people to try him. Osama is just a nobody with a group of followers.

The only prudent option was to kill him IMO. Wheter he resisted or not.
Think about it - if taken alive there would be upheaval all over the world from extremists.
Terroist threats and international terrorist attacks demanding his releease. It goes on and on.
To be honest even if he was taken alive - the most prudent (albeit wrong) thing to do would be to state he was dead.I dont think this is whatr happened but im just saying....

Shot, we don't need for him to be alive to energize his base. Him being dead and dumped into the sea diminshes his ability to be a martyr.

Taking him alive does nothing except give him yet, another platform to rant on, plus the cost of the trial would have been astronomical.

Bullet between the eyes, so much quicker and cheaper.

kill him.. he has done enough that his death would have come anyways

keeping him alive would have caused alot of problems and lead to many many many more deaths because of attacks for his release and or payback..

Why wouldnt they take him alive? All of the info he supposedly has? There are dudes in Guantanimo and many other prisons around the world that are not going to stand trial? Why would we try him?

If he was the great mastermind that we say he was, wouldnt we want all of his info?

sometimes the moral/status victory of destroying your enemy has more pull in the arena of public opinion both for and against you than keeping somebody as a prisoner.. as a prisoner they can become even larger, because they can have rights and gain more of a voice than in hiding..

but killing the one man thought to be un-findable is a loud scream to the world...
