hey guys,
This is a bit of a very specific question.
1- how long do dopamine receptors to upregulate or regenerate?
2- HOW do you upgrade dopamine receptors?
3- is there any drug or substance that actually upregulate dopmine receptors?
thanks.

by dopamine receptors do you mean the receptors for AAS?? Dopamine receptors have more to do with drugs then AAS.. so trying to clarify here
L-Dopa. that would help
and its hard to have the receptors regenerate. low dopamine is the same as parkinsons. and you know thats not curable.
hey guys, thanks for the replies.
lemon, parkinsons disease is the actual death of dopamine producing cells or something like that, not simply low dopamine.
some people have low dopamine but do not have parkinsons disease.
to machine, yes i am referring to dopamine receptors which actually downgrade by repeated drug use.
ok if you want to get technical with it there here.
If you want to upregulate ur dopamine receptors you need more dopamine. parkinsons is when the cells die, so you have very little dopamine , much to little to have no symptoms. Those symptoms called extra-pyrmidial symptoms, (aka the shakes)
L-dopa is dopamine that is able to cross the BBB to help supplement the supply of dopamine.
also, if i remember correctly, this is about hyperprolactinemia right?
Why don't you just try a dopamine agonist?
lemon yes this is relating to my hyperprolactinemia.
bonaparte, you are saying that if you want to upregulate dopamine receptors you have to give it more dopamine , but what about people who use recreational drugs, dont dopamine receptors downregulate when they use them so they have to use more to get the same effect ??
That's true with just about anything if you look at it logically. We all get use to something and then more to stimulate us to the same level although if you stop for a given time you seem to get some, most if not all of the original sensation back. That's probably why it's best to give most anything a break once in a while so you dont get to use to it or it becomes normal.
Remember the first time you saw a playboy? WOW!!! now it's like looking at the Sears catalog. LOL NO, I'm not going to stop viewing porn just so playboy will seem exciting again. I guess I'm hooked and my dopamine receptors are fvcked. LOL
