When one goes to the dermatologist for acne they are getting treated with doses to shut down the oil glands. This isn't what he wanted to do..... low dosages of acctune will clear up the skin without permanantly shutting down the oil glands.

Anyone who wants to use accutane as a permanant solution and shut down their glads should do so ONLY under a doctors care.
