Ok, lately I've been on this whole "work out at home" thing. Instead of going to the gym because I find it takes up less time out of the day and is easier on me for pre-post work out meals as well as easier to start my morning cardio in a timely manner... I am wondering what people think would be the most beneficial equipment for me to get at this point:
Here is what I already have:
Cardio:
Treadmill (used for morning Cardio)
Recumbent Bike (used for low intensity stuff like while watching a movie etc. So I can feel a little less "unproductive" during those times.
Punching bag/man (used for higher intensity bursts to change it up from time to time usually during morning cardio sessions)
Strength Training:
Power Blocks and a adjustable Bench (goes up to 130 lbs each)
Power Rack with, dip bars, Pullup/chin up bar, Lat pulldown and Row upper and lower cable setup.
(a lot of Olympic weights for this rack)
a standard olympic bar,
an easy curl bar with olympic sized ends,
another easy curl bar with a center clip for cable use,
a seated row attachement for cable use,
a tricep pushdown rope attachment,
and a standard one handed cable handle.
Now I was simply shooting for all the basic compound exercises (bench, squat, deadlift, military press, row, lat pull/chin up type movements...
Which I think I basically got down I was thinking of adding something to my home gym at this point but I don't know what. I think probably I will get some bands and chains for my power rack but other than that what do you guys think would be the next "best thing" to add to my home setup to make it a more well rounded setup.
My goal right now is to get big again... I've allowed myself to get smaller due to a few past girlfriends who thought I was "too big" and prefered more of the "model" type look rather than the "buff" type look......
I know how to work my diet etc. to change my body (which is most important obviously) but I was wondering as far as equpment went what would you guys buy next if it was you and why? I was thinking of getting an adjustable cable crossover type machine but I hardly ever use cables at the gym personally because I like compound movements the most for building size. However since I already have the compound movements pretty much covered what are your thoughts on adding cable work? (keeping in mind that I already have an upper and lower pulley... all this would add is the ability to use two at the same time and some more variation as far as the height of said pulleys... or if there's any other piece of equipment you think I'm forgetting about, I'd love to hear any suggestions.thanks
