    Being held accountable

I watch alot of politics. It really is sad the people that are in charge of the country. I'm not picking a side as both parties do it. But really they shit some of them say to try and get people to vote for them or the way they want on an issue is ridiculous.
I cant lie at my job and get away with it. Why can they? Ok, maybe some of them dont lie (giving the benefit of the doubt) but they misunderstood something or fact and just misspoke. Even if thats the truth if i'm constantly wrong and gave out wrong info at my job i would be fired.
I hear one congressman/ senator say something on the floor and gave a percentage as a fact. Then later after what he said was proven wrong he said "it wasnt intended to be a factual statement". Your giving a speech on the house floor and what you say wasnt intended to be facts?
Honestly democrats or republican it doesnt matter. Shit will never change. People will never to have a good conversation to get the county ahead to people are held to what they say.

    sorry rant over

Agreed. Almost all of them stopped caring about us a long time ago. They pretend to care around election time and lie for votes. Then we go back to not caring about them and they go off and do whatever benefits them personally while we aren't paying attention.

Both sides are filled with corrupt liars.

they all complain about debt and waste of money in our country. Why don't they look at themselves and their salaries. Some waste alot of time and money trying to pass some ridiculous bill that they know wont pass. But they do it to get the base going or attention to themselves. Fvck if i wasted 2 weeks at work to d oa presentation to my boss that was a horible idea or unrealistic my boss would be pissed.

I really dont know how to fix it. Maybe public finance of elections. At least they would be working more instead out trying to raise $$ and saying lies to get money

I will say that there simply not enough of them for a pay cut to help the country...except emotionally. But that alone would be a great step in rebuilding trust.

I agree that their partisanship is a huge waste of time and money. They seem to rarely produce anything of value to the country. I refuse to believe that our country needs 10,000 new laws every year. They need to be jerking around less and spend their time really helping and caring for their constituents.

The would be fired if they acted like that any any other profession, and this country would have been out of business if it was judged like any other financial entity. Politics is dirty, selfish business.

The sooner we get the money out of it, the sooner it will get back to being productive. The founders wanted it to be about a "citizen Politician" who went to do a selfless service, much like joining the military. We need to get back to that.

Been watching this for years with the last 4 elections..Nothing has changed..but it only get progressively worse. The middle class is shrinking, the poor are getting poorer and the rich get richer...Its by design. the candidates that are backed by the people with the most money always wins. The last 4 presidents have won because of oil money from the companies that back them. Do you guys know how many laws and policies are going into effect everyday that we have no idea about...but each one slowly takes away more freedoms and more money from us...all the while the government somehow gets deeper in debt. How is this possible, they take more money from us and the government gets poorer..A couple months ago it came out that Apple has more cash reserves and money than out own government.

But its not just here, its the situation with pretty much every nation in the world...look at Europe, they are bankrupt, greece has no GDP, Italy does clothes, fashion cars olive oil, but they are in bad shape too..Its just the way it is now. It will end up being rich and poor like it used to be in Britain with serfdom and land ownership of the rich. My parents used to be rich, now they are middle class, the crash this happened to millions of people. I think my parents lost close to 10 million dollars when United Stock crashed and my dad lost everything. My ex's family lost close to 100 million dollars in the crash, now they cant even put new tires on their old broken down BMW's that they had from the high life. Its a sad story for all

I really ****ing hate politicians now. They are just as bad here as they are in the U.S.

    Example:

3 years ago, politicians Baroness Warsi and Chris Huhne made huge points about how the wealthy should stop getting big bonuses and it should be abolished.

Chris Huhne recently resigned from his party. He is being given a 3 month bonus, amounting to about 20 K. When asked about it and how hypocritical it was on a live radio show, Warsi said "that is a matter for Chris Huhne" and refused to comment on it.

The worst thing is, he is resigning because he is refusing to own up to dodging a speeding offence on his licence.

Cvnts. The lot of em are ****ing cvnts.

They're all in bed with Rupert Murdoch, here and in the States.

not sure. maybe a separate institution or body, that actually held them to what they say, Make them go in front of a panel and explain how and why they said something false and not factual. Maybe if they had to answer and explain their actions and voters could see them squirm and try and wiggle out of it they would stop.

Term limits, term limits, term limits. The biggest problem in politics today is the career politician. Rather than stand up for what they believe in or what the majority want, they take a BS middle ground and straddle the fence and basically do nothing in order to not piss off either side too bad so they can get re-elected.

    that would help too.
public finance elections. No more donations. They would owe nobody anything. They could work more cause they dont need to go out and raise money. And everyone would spend the same amount so it would be closer to fair. Not the person with the most money wins

Yeah, it's hard to say exactly how or when, but somewhere along the path of living the American dream, our Government went bunk. Most of them, being lawyers, figured out ways to manipulate and deceive the people and the constitution; all in the name of their own special interests and ideologies. It's evident, but nobody at the moment seems to have the stuff to get it back on track.
    ,
I still have hope that one day we will get the "accountable" leadership, who will indeed serve the citizens of our country, and that will keep our country strong in all aspects. These are very dangerous times ... Israel is on the brink of attacking Iran, and who knows how far off Iran is from getting all the pieces put together with nukes. To keep it fair, I'll name two presidents (different parties) that we could really use right now; JFK or Reagan. Neither would be waffling on their positions with foreign affairs, nor would either be apologizing to a radical group of people that are killing OUR troops.

We are laughed at, mocked, and viewed as weak by all of these countries, and within we are more divided than at any point since maybe the Civil War. The State of California is a fine example of how this plays out. California is completely broke!! The Government ran rampid for all of these years, making sure that they, and everyone under their wing got their life long entitlements. It's a great thing, just keep raising the taxes, let everyone pay for it. Then it gets to the point they've taxed the hell out of everything as much as they can, yet they still can't bring in enough money. So, they start cutting back in law enfor***ent, education, and and other vital areas that are crucial to run a functional society. Last year, Gov. Brown signed off to release 34,000 prisoners over a two year span. This, so we can free up the money for their entitlements. Law enfor***ent is getting slashed, prisoners on the street, you can figure out the rest ...

Indeed, no accountability. When it's all said and done, Nancy will have her vineyards and millions waiting for her in a secured homestead in California, living nicely off the taxpayers. Same scenario with most of Congress and the Senate. Really wish Zeus would release the kraken on all of their asses!! Maybe the occupy Wall Street crowd will grow some brains and figure out that these are the clowns that are truly gouging and stooping us! It's frustrating to no end. We need an overhaul like never seen before. Never give up what's ours ... Our freedom of speech, our right to bare arms, and unreasonable government intrusion into our homes, businesses, and lives, not to mention so much more that helped mold us into a great country.

The problem is it will never change. Because they are the ones who have to change it. You may get a few that are willing to change but never 60% of the gov are going to vote to be held accountable to what they say. They arent going to vote to have to work more or to be out of a job in a certain amount of years

MUCH less pay, campaign finance reform, hold them accountable to a grand jury for any lies or misinformation with the penalty being fired without pay and possible jail time, term limits and most of all what happened to men who don't take no shit from limp wristed dictators or anyone else who desires and proclaims to do us harm?!!! I hate ***** lawyers and their endless, meaningless drivel.....where's Reagan? We've been fvcked and robbed, nothing short of riots and bloodshed will fix this country..........I'm sure that rant will get me on a watchlist.

Start by reforming how campaigns are financed. At least let the voted know who is buying a politician and by how much.

It all comes down to a lack of morals values and patriotism here in the US today. So many are willing to sell out so easily and the Chinese are capitalising on this. They are everywhere over here with suitcases full of money in Washington buying out state secrets knowing full well the politicians of today are so easily bought off. Money indeed is the root of all evil. Add to our lack of morals and values today with the total loosening up and lack of enfor***ent of our laws now on the books for treason, IE no more death penalties, so now that everone knows there are no penalties for what they do more and more people are taking it as a green light to rob steal and do treasonous acts to our citizens and country. And how do some in power shift the blame for all this? By blaming the gays for all our ills today. I never quite could understand how 2 guys marrying each other had anything to do with someone unrelated to them to steal secrets and sell them to China or go on a rape rampage but as some preachers on TV tell it, it is true. It is gods wrath for us allowing gays to openly serve in the military. Oh and by the way please send in a large donation to them this month as the reverand needs a new summer home and private jet in florida after all it takes a whole lot of money to serve the lord.

TV Preacher Joyce Meyer's One of Several Mansions And Estates. Of course tax free while we pay taxes on our little ole homes.
