    What does tamoxifen do?

I am about to do my first cycle and I was advised to get something for estrogen. All I could get was tamoxifen. Is it any good? Does it work?

    Any info would be helpful.

Tamox is Nolva. It's good if u start getting gyno. I'd recommend arimidex or aromisin to take on cycle. I personally like a dex at .5 eod (every other day)

What are u taking? What's ur stats?

Also u can get any of the ancillaries at ar-r

Tamoxifen is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It's MOA is different from aromasin, femara, or anastrozol which block aromatization of estrogen to testosterone. During cycles, AI are better options.

I don't know what ancillaries are. Please feel free to educate me.

You need to halt your cycle and do more research before you decide to do ANYTHING any further.

this is what the stickies are there for really. you have the most basic of questions honestly and they've been answered dozens and dozens and dozens of times. scroll up to the top of the forum, read the pinned topic or do a simple forum search and catch up on them and you'll have a much better understanding of the different compounds you are putting into your body.

I thought that was what the tamoxifen was. That's why I was asking if it work. I have not started the cycle yet, I am just trying to figure out everything I need.

I would save it for pct and get some clomid for pct as well and like stated above armidex 0.5 eod through cycle. Good luck

What does your first cycle consist of ,after thought?

A serm prevents estrogen from binding to the e receptors but does not lower plasma e levels. So e levels remain elevated even though the serm will prevent most e related sides.

An ai (aromatase inhibitor) is a better choice on cycle b/c they prevent t from being converted to e in the first place by disabling the aromatase enzyme so e never becomes elevated.

I am sure you don't understand half the responses on here, so let me explain it to you the way I would want it explained to me if I didn't know anything...

Nolvadex (tamoxifen) will not lower estrogen levels in your body. What Nolvadex does is bind to the estrogen receptor in the breast tissue. In simpler terms, it blocks the estrogen from entering inside the breast tissue and causing gyno. (vets, correct me if I am wrong)

So knowing that Nolvadex does not lower your estrogen levels, you will need an Aromatase Inhibitor (AI). This is the substance that will keep the estrogen levels in your body in check.

Hope this explains it. Now start reading and learning. There are not too many guys on this board that will dumb it down to you like I just did.
