I would like to help this man. 54 yrs old, at least 50% bf, 600+ lbs. please. Anything you know.
So his TDEE (600x15) is 9000 so I guess have him eat like 8500,then 8000, then 7500, and then taper down? If your a personal trainer, how do you train someone incapable of moving?

What? That is not how you estimate TDEE. It's not total weight x 15, it's LBM, which would put him a little over 2000 cals.

And I would honestly whole hearted take my advice...

Before you do anything else with this person you need what I said..Medical records and docs orders written on paper along with liability waiver he needs to sign that with release you of any liability..

Also, NO EXERCISE! PEROID! Just work with him on diet....

And to tell you the truth..I bet tis person is just WAITING to blame someone like you yo get money from a lawsuit...WHY?

Because someone at that weight OBVIOUSLY has MAJOR health issues and is OBVIOUSLY working with a doc and nutritionist....

So why would they try to go to a personal trainer when they are working with Certified doctors?

Furthermore, the BEST thing you can do with this client is MOTIVATE them (Perhaps, that is REALLY what they are looking for)..MAKE them believe they can lose weight.Encourage them...Doctors see MANY MANY people everyday and are usually strapped with time and DO NOT CONNECT WITH PATIENTS ON A PERSONAL LEVEL...

THat is where you can come in...Bring in pictures of people who were overweight and lost A TON of weight...Even if it is not real...Encourage them and support them....

Let them no that ope is NOT lost..Which it isn't...ANYONE can lose weight even the obese...

    sorry.

op, may i ask what profession are you in? what sort of client is he?

i would think for someone who is so morbidly obese, he may need a full medical evaluation, and maybe medical and surgical treatment.
