I'll always listen to house... but there is way better sub genres of EDM out right now. I try to keep up with... "the hottest shit in the streets right now." I don't wanna end up some cynical old fck complaining about how music sucks nowadays. I think we're going through a renaissance, and if you keep a closed mind to the new shit, you'll get left behind. Dub/Drumstep, Trap, and Glitch is where its at!

I used to think this way. Its a typical Ny'ers thought process. No one was better then JP and Dt and SF and Vinyl but the reality is they are a joke when considering Dj's over seas. Richie Hawtin shits all over DT and JP. The music is different now though. There isnt the vocal anthems anymore. I would have to say that House Music is at an all time high right now in NY. There was never the amount of parties except for the late 90's and there is so much more talent out there in NY. You just have to know where to go. Being from BK you should know BK is the home for all the underground parties

EDM is at an all time everywhere now. 10-15 years ago, the only real Big Scenes where in NY/NJ FL/CA or... Europe. My friends used to call me a fag for listening to house. For me its more about the crowd the DJ's attract. I go out in brooklyn alot and I'm not hearing alot of house anymore at all. Like I said... its more Dub/Drumstep, Trap/Glitchhop, maybe some Electro House. EDM is alive and well, but House is old news.

FYI I am old so I am just using house instead of EDM to label the music.

Brooklyn is now the mecca for underground to be determined location only parties for house music. Output recently opened up which is huge for house.

RA: Event listings for New York, United States of America look at the events for the weekend. Black market is huge in Brooklyn now

If you are looking for legit house music I guess all you have left is Lou Vega and the deep house parties at ps schools
