My niece wants an iPad for xmas too. I took like 5 minutes to explain to her why iPads suck and Galaxys are better. And after all that, she's still not getting a tablet. I got her, her first guitar (scaled down so a little kid can handle it). We're getting kids these all these e-devices that they're just rotting their fvcking minds with. We should be getting kids things they can be creative with or things they can go do outside with other kids.

My big brother told me one time when I was little that for Christmas he was going to give me a full week with no beatings.
Now that I think about it for Christmas this year I think I will beat his a$$ before he goes home.

I'm got to get him galaxy tab. This is what I don't like about it. They need to be outside more often. My mother allows him only few hours a day for games and Netflix.

I feel bad for parents these days..

When I was 6 we were asking for G.I. Joes and Nerf footballs. Now kids want all these expensive devices and christmas costs parents 20x more. Not only that, the kids aren't even as grateful for the presents they receive.

When I was 6, the only thing I remember wanting was a new bike. I got that bike and I rode it until I wore out the tires.

Playing with friends back then entailed going with your friends out into the hills and making up games or bringing a shovel and digging up ramps to use our new bikes on. Kids now have no imagination anymore and they just want to veg out in front of the TV. I remember when it was punishment to a kid for being bad, if he wasn't allowed to go outside. Now, it's a reward.

Because societal norms anymore incline them to "expect" to receive it. Parents are like the government to kids. They just want it handed to them.

This is absolutely truth!!! I cant fukkin stand it when I ask my kids if they want to go outside and they say "no Im watching tv" or something. I actually force them to play with toys and use their imagination... it drives me mental to see them gawking at the screen with their mouth slightly open and head tilted slightly bad...by the timeni was 5 I was outside until the street lights came on every night

    >good luck<

I spent all my time eating blue berries pretending they were energy pills, using old rotten stump branches as laser guns, swinging on the rope swing or playing in the woods with girls. For some reason the girls always wanted to go into the woods where no one could see us.
