Ha! When i lived in Georgia i had a hillbilly gym. Instead of a bench press, we would do pushups with cinder blocks on our backside by the shoulders.

i don't remember all the "equipment" we had, but it wasn't much. we never grew huge, but we were strong like rip chords. I could do more pushups than any other bloke in our battalion of about 800 guys (hundreds of pushups, hence the cinderblocks on the shoulders) I bet a bloke one time i could easy do 500 situps. $20. He held my feet, and i knocked out the 500 quick. I asked him if he wanted to go double or nothing for a thousand situps. he declined.
i've never used the excuse of "lack of equipment" for not exercising. There are always ways to exercise muscle groups for which you lack equipment. But you can't concern yourself with how silly it might look.
