    I use dumbells mainly because I don't like the bar dragging over my junk....or if on cycle, I like it too much which can prove awkward. hahaha. I usually use dumbells with wrist straps to help pull more weight or; like someone else suggested, a trap bar is also a good approach.

    I love the bb but yes the bar sliding close to your junk is scary and annoying. bb feels better on the traps for me vs db. I do both though.

    whats helped me is the squeeze at the top and always drop set
