The hormones in your body regulate sexual function, cognition, sleep-wake cycles (your circadian rhythm), digestion, immune system function, wound healing, appetite, mood, cardiac function, lipid metabolism, hematopoiesis and more. When you shut down your HTPA you will disrupt many of these essential functions. So changes in mood (if they occur) should not come as a surprise.
As DTM suggested, estrogen levels can also play a big part in mood swings. Using an AI will help regulate potential swings.
There is really no way to "prepare for it" except to realize it can happen and when it does, to remind yourself that it's the hormonal shifts causing the changes.
One reason we encourage younger members to wait before jumping into steroids is so they mature a bit more and understand how steroids will affect many normal functions. When you read about occasional steroid-related suicidality it's more often in young guys who haven't matured enough to understand and handle the changes brought on by endocrine manipulation via steroids.
