I always get nervous when I see calories being thrown around like a piece of meat. Calories is a terrible way to track nutrition. There was a report I read where a team of special forces was on tour eating 1800 calories a day and working round the clock. They were actually gaining weight. The report broke down their food into grams rather than calories. The point of the report was that if proper nutrition is supplied to the body the body can continue to function at peak performance even if the total calories below TDEE.
